I think that Real are in a changing period.
They are trying to get a good mix of players, and the right kind of team. With the money that they have you'd think it was easy, but it isn't. We have media and people on forums making polls going against us. Every team has their slup and Real is in one now.
It isn't like they are doing horridly. They are in 5th. They haven't done wonderfully for 2 seasons now. People need to stop setting such high expectations for us and just let us play football. Man U, Arsenal, Barca, Milan, and many other top teams have gone through low times, look where they are at now.
Time will tell.

We still have young players in our squad. I'll admit that we have some older players like Zizou, Figo, Ronnie, Carlos, Becks, and Guti. But young guys that will still be with us for another 5 years. Owen, Raul, Samuel, Helguera(sorta), and Woodgate(hopefully).

Hp.

Personally i would run madrid like this
Ronaldo Owen
Guti Zidane and Figo and substitute
Raul Beckham Raul use to be an OMF
Hegulera personally not my choice but few good dmfs are available
Woodgate, Samuel, Pavon, Salgado we have enought subs on defence and plus we have Carlos

Aston, it isn't gonna work. Too much attacking. Not enough defence. Woodgate isn't a sideback. Nor is he left footed. Samuel is, but he isn't a sideback either. Carlos is both. I don't even see your formation; is it this....
..................Ronnie Owen
.................Guti Zizou Figo
......Raul.............................. Becks
......................Helguera
Woodgate - Samuel - Pavon - Salgado

Too many players. Explaing the formation and try not to type so much in the formation. ;)

I think it should be here because with some of the stupid people we have here, it can become a stupid pit of argueing and insulting.

But whatever.

Tak-E-Yo-Yo, you have something against Real Madrid?

Because if you do you don't know thay they are just in a bad state but slowly recovering although they haven't been disqualified out of any major club championships so I think you are taking this advantage to attack on them.

When Real start winning more games than they already are then you won't be talking but for now why don;t we talk about your club...although I don;t think anyone but you know who they are lol...

RaulMadrid7

This post is really stupid... because here is someone that does not know anything about Real Madrid let alone soccer and is criticizing the club just because they haven't won any trophies for a while.

It's funny how Tak-E-Yo-Yo made up this thread just to try and put some kind of hate against Real Madrid... must be a coward to do this at a time that Real are just begining to progress.

But anyways doesen't matter what Tak-E-Yo-Yo or whatever his name is says because Real will progress and Iran are still the strongest and best country in Asia.

Ur callin me a coawrd? I just expressed that i didnt' like real madrid. Then u started beefin, and i had to regulate. I have nothing against real madrid. I just think that they need to get some new players, or just work together more. They have a very very good team, but they just need 3to learn to play well with eachother. And they have so many world class players, they dont know who to start, and where

And to answer the topic, I think Real Madrid is not the dominant force it once was, the team that everyone was afraid of, now is just another good team, it's still a big name, of course, but their performance is still very questioned, I just hope their game can return to its tracks.

Oh and by the way Tak-E-Yo-Yo, I don't mean to start anything but it would be nice if you appoligized for the last thread where you called me a "doushbag" when I said nothing and that is probably why I called you a coward in this thread.

I am just making that clear although I don't want to continue arguing about that.

woodgate....Samuel....Pavon....Salgado.......Carlos can substitute
We have great subs so I think this will work. I know woody isn't left-footed but when he is recovered he will outdo againg carlos.

Well, I think that Zizou and Figo help us a lot and using them as subs won't help the team moral. Figo is one of the most consistent players we have. Zizou has his moments as well. Carlos is out freaking captian too dude, you can't bench your captain. And assuming that Woodgate is better than Carlos is a little out there since we haven't him play yet. Saying that Pavon is better than Carlos is way way way out in left field. ;) Honestly. We have a good amount of players, we just need them all to be healthy. Guti, Becks, and Owen all are good when they come on, but the players ahead of them are good when they start. Fixing them as subs would work well in my mind. Our midfield is strong in attacking but weak in defending, so why not use one on top. Ronnie can do fine upfront by himself. Due to the inch perfect passing Becks, and Figo, and at times Raul can do I think that he would be ok. Anyways the point I'm trying to make is, too much attacking, too little defending.

The first sensible post on this thread. It seems to me that there are either too groups in this argument, those who think Real are the best team in the world and those who think that they are appaling. I lie somewhere in the middle of these two groups. They have the potential to return to the top of the world game and with Sacchi running the club I think they probably will. But they need to start working towards the future. Players like Zidane and Figo are past their best and Carlos can't go on forever. They also need a true defensive midfielder and someone to play alongside him. They have a solid foundation on which to build this team, their good attack and good defence(on paper). So this summer, rather than waste money on another attacker such as Adriano or Totti, Real should sign some midfielders. This would be my team for next year:

-----------------------------Casillas------------------------------------

Salgado-----------Woodgate------------Samuel------------------Lahm--

Beckham----------Gerrard---------------Mascherano-----------Zidane---

-------------------Ronaldo--------------Raul------------------------

Money isn't an objective for Real. I think that would be the perfect line-up for Madrid.....

Highway Penguin

Yes, but we won't be able to get Gerrard. He plegded himself to Liverpool.
And apperantly River Plate had a huge bid for 3 of their players and Mascherano was involved. So he might be going to an Iranian club. I would like to see Lahm at the club, he could learn from our aging Carlos. What about Helguera? If Woodgate is not able to play as well or can't get past his injury would you buy another center back? Or stick with Helguera?

Leon of Silvren
01-03-2005, 05:55 AM
I think that if Woodgate don't recover we need to get a new CB, Helguera has showed he can't deliver. And yes, I heard Masherano was discarded from the list of transfers, I don't know the reason though.

And G your formation is almost perfect if not for 2 details....Becks instead of Masherano and Robinho in the spot of Becks.

----------------Casillas

Salgado----Woodgate----Samuel----Carlos (Lahm)

-----------Gerrard-----Beckham

----Robinho------Zidane

------------Ronaldo----Raul (Owen)

They'd better get one or two useful defenders like Makalele, otherwise they may get nothing this season. Powerful forward is not enough.

Wait
Ronaldo Owen
Guti
Raul Beckham
Salgado
Samuel Pavon Hegulera Woodgate

Or Masherano instead of Gerard....I still think Becks can show his fully potential with a quality defensive midfielder at his side, and I'm gonna stick to that idea unless he proves me wrong. ;)

I'm not a Madrid fan but I'll tell you that even by their own standards they're having an average season. OK they've had some good results but who could really consider teams like Levante and Albacete much of a challenge? They did good to go through to the next round of the CL but I doubt they'll get past Juve. If Luxemburgo can turn things around in the next couple of months or so Madrid will have a good finish to the season. All I can say that no one is invincible not even Madrid...the cracks started showing last season.

Salgado as a DM????????

Woodgate and Samuel your two best CB's as Full Backs????

I think it's best if we leave the formation to the pros. :D

----------------------Ronaldo-----Raul-----------------

---------------------------Robinho---------------------

-----------Beckham--------Gerrard-------Zidane--------

-----Carlos-------Samuel--------Woodgate---Salgado---

---------------------------Casillas-----------------------

I think Leon's formation was similar except that mines has more in the midfield rather than upfront the reason being that Gerrard and Beckham need a guy like Zidane to help control the midfield a little better, so that Beckham can do his crosses rather than worry about helping Gerrard because Zidane can do that.

RM7, you might wanna reconsider Zidane BEcks and Robinho position.
