Real Madrid's new coach that has just replaced Remon has a very good record and alot of hope for Real Madrid to start out good after the Xmas break.

Read more about it at www.realmadrid.com, but is anyone excited about this new coach? Or is he going to be a failure like Camacho?

I personally think we should wait and see.

Man he's the best ever in Brazil. Won 5 National Leagues (the current one too), and many other National and Regional (Brazil still has regional competitions) Cups.
Wanderley Luxemburgo will prove, like Scolari did, that the Brazilian coaches are as good as the players.
But as you said it needs some time...

I agree with you guys, BUT remember when Camacho came and how much we said he was gonna change the team?

But I personally have a better feeling about his record than Camacho's.

NOT GOOD 4 Becks,

Brazililan coaches would like players who play upfront 2 have some dribbling skills which Becks lack, dont know where will he place him!!! He will definitely love Zidane & Figo's style of play..

I doubt they will have to fight at all both players are the future of Real... Raul should be in the midfield and Owen should be a forward Figo and Zidane should retire.

Nah, I think it's better if we keep Zidane and Figo until they retire.

Obviously you haven't watched many Real Madrid games to even think about suggesting that Figo and Zidane should leave.

I don't know if this change was good or bad, I just know the change was necesary, so no matter if Luxemburgo makes a better or worst job than Remon, the decision of singing him was good, which I applaud.

Why they nvr hire Arrigo Sacchi? They r making a mistake of hiring the Brazil guy.

At least 4 months ago I watched Luxemburgo on TV saying that Beckham is a secret weapon that nobody knew how to use - It sounds funny, he didn't even know he'd be working with Becks in the future. So I think he'll keep him.

Earlier this month Wanderley Luxemburgo coached Santos to the Brazilian title.

He has now won the championship five times with four different clubs.

A nondescript full-back in his playing days, Luxemburgo the coach is a phenomenon of Brazilian football.

The question now, as he takes over at Real Madrid, is can he become a phenomenon of global football?

"The force of his will to win is striking," is the verdict of current Brazil coach Carlos Alberto Parreira.

He should know. A few weeks ago Parreira helped organise a forum for Brazilian coaches.

Luxemburgo gave a lecture which built up to an extraordinary climax.

At the time, Santos were involved in a two-horse race for the title against Atletico Paranaense. "I want my opponent to die," he yelled. "I want Atletico to die."

It left a nauseating taste in the mouth. Two Brazilian players had just dropped dead on the field.

Luxemburgo's words were monumentally ill-judged.

But that is the man. He throws his whole being into the quest for victory. His total commitment and attention to detail are the reasons behind his success.

But his lack of limits makes him vulnerable for a fall. In his playing days he knocked three years off his age and appeared for a Brazil Under-20 side when he was really 22.

A Congressional Commission of Inquiry revealed that he had more than 20 bank accounts stuffed with millions of dollars the origin of which he could not convincingly explain.

And, of course, there was his chaotic two-year spell in charge of the Brazilian national team.

Luxemburgo took over after France '98 and his first words in charge were: "I come with the certainty that I will be successful."

He talked about his "macro plan". And he gave the impression of an ego on the loose, trying too hard to impress.

Handling the stars of European football is new territory for Luxemburgo. It will be fascinating to see whether he can stand up to the test.

Although he won the 1999 Copa America, he never looked happy in a job that tests the character of the man more than the quality of the coach.

Some of his selections were craven attempts to get the press on his side.

Even at his worst, though, he was usually capable of improving the side with shrewd substitutions.

Luxemburgo claims that he is a calmer, more mature figure these days.

And, in domestic Brazilian football at least, he has a consistent record of producing teams that win in style.

He has got the best out of the likes of Rivaldo and Edmundo (at Palmeiras), Freddy Rincon (Corinthians), Alex at Cruzeiro and Robinho at Santos.

His time with Flamengo and the national team was somewhat overshadowed by his fall out with Romario, but Luxemburgo is far from the only coach who found the little man too hot to handle.

Handling the stars of European football, though, is new territory. Brazilian club sides are not the multilingual, multicultural melting pot of contemporary European football.

Adjustments will have to be made to the methods of motivation and team building that Luxemburgo has used so far.

There will be no lack of effort on his part, and no lack of talent. But it will be fascinating to see whether he can stand up to the test of character.

Vanderlei Luxemburgo was Real Madrid's third-choice as new coach, insists one of the men who claims turned down the job.

Brazil coach Carlos Alberto Parreira said: "Sacchi looked for me, but he knew that it would be very difficult that I accepted, because I am already with the Brazilian national team.

"And (Luiz Felipe) Scolari would not accept either, because he is training Portugal."

Parreira says both he and Scolari urged Sacchi to go for Luxemburgo, adding: "The recommendation was perfect, because Vanderlei is wonderful and was the best option that Real Madrid had."

These are probably the Top 3 coaches in the World right now: Luxemburgo, Parreira and Scolari. They got tricks... a lot of 'em!

Robinho already admitted that he is not a good , far from a decent striker . He said he he is more like a winger , has poor finishing . He doesnt need to get in the way of Ronaldo or Owen , who are sharp striker . Robinho will be winger play either right/left like Figo . U see he plays , u can imagine the effect of Figo .

Well, Luxemburgo broke the record for consecutive winnings for a new coach at Real Madrid, 6 in fact. Plus, when he came the difference between Barça and Real was 13 points, now it’s 4… The guy is great!!!

He certainly is doing a great job, the players look in better physical shape and with more discipline, this Real Madrid will get far, no doubt about it.

Indeed, he also will be able to have the reinforcements he wants for the next season, and the players will fully understand his vision of the game, the team will look even better, we always hope next season will be better, but now is different, now we are certain that the future ahead is even brighter.

Things are looking good for us, in La Liga Barca is slipping little by little and in the CL, Juve had lost their last two games.....also, Chelsea and Milan, the other strongest teams are delining too, and we're improving, we might get the two trophies, why not??
