Sacchi: Real Madrid galacticos must play for team

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New Real Madrid general manager Arrigo Sacchi admits the team's galacticos must become more of a unit.

Sacchi took in Real's home defeat by Seville last week before signing his contract and revealed: "Franco Baresi called me after the game and said 'Arrigo, you know you won't get bored there. There's a lot of work ahead for you!"

"I agree. Six or seven of our players would walk into any team in the world. But we need them to play as a unit. They need to play for the team and all play at the same level of intensity."

"When Seville didn't have the ball, there would be three or four players looking to tackle a Real Madrid player. When it was the other way around, there would only be one Real player trying to defend."

Sacchi rubbished claims that Real's galacticos are too old and coming to the end of their 'cycle' in the game.

"We do not have players here who are too old," he continued. "I don't believe the cycle is over. What we need to do is study why such great players aren't producing."

"There are players like Costacurta, Maldini and Baresi who have demonstrated that it is possible to play at a high level until their 36, 37 or 38 years."

Never read such straight 4ward words from previous sport directors at the club, or even the coach..........I hope he makes a difference...

Let's hope he can do something to the team. He is already trying to get Milan's coach, and Inter's Davids. Hopefully he will sign some players this winter transfer or at the end. Let's just hope he signs some guys. Leftback to back up Carlos, a center, and a defensive mid. Some young up and coming guys to watch and learn from Zizou would be good as well.

Yeah, I think Sacchi will do a good job in terms of what he said because he just said everything i thought about Real Madrid that how they need to be more as a team than showing off thier talents individually like poor Figo has to.

So let's wait and see after the XXXmas break if this Italian guy actually sticks to his word and spanks Real Madrid a little to get them ready for Juventus and the rest of the clubs they are to face in the weeks ahead.

And believe me if Sacchi actually buys or does something to make this team more solid they WILL perform... you can already see that Real Madrid are struggling to get thier chemistry together but there is a FLAW and I hope Sacchi can find it and fix it so that Real can be a Flawless Diamond again.

Hopefully Sacchi can do his magic in Real like he did in Milan.
If Real Madrid can play as a team and not just like a bunch of stars it can be invincible.
