before every game I say 2 myself "lets give him a chance his stats r of legendary status, and he is not old yet, so lets give him a chance, im sure this game he will do something", but i get disappointed(surprisingly he has been quite effective in the champions league, i dont know the mystery here). The thought of even putting him on the bench scares Remon 2 death because he has seen what happened 2 Camacho when he made such a move, and Remon would never put Ronaldo on bench because he still shows that he can be very good.

Whats happening 2 Raul? Yes he runs he is working hard but where r his goal scoring touches????? he gets a chance from time 2 time infront of the goal & he just cant handle the ball!!!!!!!!!!!

1 thing 4 sure, he has 2 be 1 of the best star players ever in terms of character, he never gets in2 fights, hardly ever gets booked, even while losing he has this immense sports spirit, & he is surely 1 of the most respected players of 2day..........

I wish he gets back his touch.........very soon

It's not only Raul the whole team is at his worst ever play (without Figo and Casillas maybe) and I think one of the reasons is the unhappines of the captain and the others. There's no fun on the pitch, they're all depresed and confused because of bad relatationships. The starting attack is always afraid from the challengers on the bench + Raul has lost the support from his best friend Morientes and that makes angry the "home" players who play good but can't take chanses because of Perez stupid vision. The Mid are happy to say that the lack of DM is spoiling them but they're not playing like a team, they're just a few (even) not really good egoists. And the Defence is tragical last year we haven't good choises now we have a "world Class bookings receiver" and i hope Woody will get better soon to help him :) So i think they are all away from football in their minds and that makes them play undeterminated (hope i'm wrong and need to apologyse next week but don't really trust it :dontcare: )

I think that the problem with Raul is not Raul himself, you alway see him running all match long, carrying the ball, he's the second (if not first) playmaker of the team, and he shouldn't be doing that, he has to fully take the roll of a forward and let the playmaking to Zidane and Figo. Now the problem is Zidane and Figo are receiving the ball too behind and then Raul has to come back down to help them, erasing all chances of him to be in a dangerous play.

So I think that the problem comes from the midfield, where we need a strong defensive player, in that way Figo and Zizou won't be so worryied about coming down to defend, and they'll have more chance to grab the ball more forward and handle it to Raul who in the meantime also is nearer from the box.

Th team is not doing too well but Raul is doing everything to humiliate himself. A chicken blindfolded could play better.

Thank god Madrid has O FENOMENO RONALDO! :ronaldo:

Raul has been very dissapointing so far, but he deserve another chance, after all he's the record breaker, 'El Ferrari', and according to my opinion, the problem is not him. But yeh I also think Owen and Moro should get more chances, only if Remon would do the subs on time......

Although one say an issue is subjective discussion , I agree with Leon , the answer lies on technical matters . Not about teamwork or ability , it is a problem of technical .

1) No strong DM . A counter attack can easily reach penalty area , luckily there is Samuel and Casillas . If a ball in a home area , it's hard to regain possession and bring out to the midfield . Usually , the one who do this task are Zidane and raul .

2) Remon doesnt have the guts to try new formation or brave substitution of forward .

Raul has been too active at the back nowadays , leaving Ronaldo alone who is marked by at least a player all the time . For effective finishing , basically we need one "marksman" , normally Raul to divide the defenders' attention , and a striker . We have 3 very strong strikers , Ronaldo , Morientes , and Owen . Owen can also play as "marksman" .

Owen with Morientes. And the media already talks about Raul's and the whole team will to play alongsaide Moro than Owen and not pass him the ball like in the beginig of the season .I don't really trust this but it's true that "old" madrid players like Raul , Moro and Guti who had played years long together and were top of Europe and world dislike newcommers that earn "Galactico
" wages for doing the same (even worse some times) as they did for the club and the respect they must receive is replaced by ... going on loan. Is this what players like Morientes deserve?
This splits the team in two parts "past titulars" and "galacticos" and makes the both camps angry. I can't understand from which of the two is Raul now and guess he too

I doubt this, ofcourse Moro is depressed & frustrated but he wouldnt blame Owen as much as Perez 4 it, and i hope he leaves this January.

i think raul is havin a bad time in la liga but they also still letting him play quite often is because he is very popular with the fans and many fans like him so not to make the fans unhappy the manager is playing him.

However Moro made some harsh comments about Owen, he said Owen was a 'president signing', There were a small chaos, mainly made by the press -as usual- but Owen didn't respond -smart for him- amd the subject died. I don't think there are still some problems between them I mean, I know they're probably not the best friends, but at least they don't fight against each other.....

I also can't believe what has happened to Raul. I mean he was fine the first half of last season, he scored loads of goals and I remember he scored a hat-trick in one match and every single one of those goals was a beauty, all class goals. I really admired him. Alex Ferguson even called him the best player in the world when Real and Man UTD played in the Champions league. He was one of the best strikers and proved it in evry match. He was a leader.

Now it seems he is nothing like his old self and I don't know why. He did humiliate himself enough times this season when he recieves balls in the box as he fumbles over, mis-controls the ball or hits the ball off-target. It's quite scary to see him like this. He was one of the best finishers, very clinical now he can't finish if there is practically an open net. He has taken up that role of playing in front of the midfield and behind the striker(s). Despite his lack of goals he contributes hugely to the team. He works mainly as a midfielder, he does all these little but important passes which build up an attack which is why we hardly see him in a match and leads by example, but sadly in the wrong position. He runs a lot, he defends a lot but he stops just before he is 30 yards away from the opposing goal net. He is more like Paul Scholes now without all the goals and shots. He plays in some brilliant passes but is never seen in the 20-yard box.

I have no idea what has happened to him though. His body language is poor and he never smiles, not even when he scores. All class players have a goal drought though and all go through a bad phase, but this one has lasted more than a season which is worrying. But i'm glad to say that atleast he gives us goals which were most needed. I think all his goals this season were vital goals. He hasn't declined as a player, just as a goal scorrer, he still displays tremendous skill which is breathtaking (people who have seen the la liga matches this season know what I mean) and he doesn't have a poor match anymore but then again he doesn't play as a stiker which leads people to think he is playing poorly.

I think is a matter of morale and motivation, in sport there's something called 'quicksand', that is when something goes wrong you try to fix it, but everytime you try you drown more and more, maybe that's what's happening to him.....
