SLO-CRO-YUG basketball league again?!

What do you say about recreateion of ex-YUGO basketball league. It certanly will be cool.
our leag. was in the past defenitly the strongest in Europe even stronger than Euro-basketball league. Just imagin about Union Olimpija, Cibona, Zadar, Partizan... playing together again.

Next year it will be alive again!!! But only with one diference; no Serbian clubs yet. But anyway it is great!!! :D :D :D :D

3 clubs from Slovenia :) , 4 from Croatia, 2 from BIH, 1 from Montenegro and 1 from Macedonia

Yes, it is Buduènost. And in next two years will join the Serbian clubs too! :D :D :D The national leagues will stay, but these clubs will play there only at playoffs!!

This is just simply stupid.
It's like making a leauge between Greece, Turkey, Albania and Serbia. It's not going to be any good, and I promise you the croats will not participate in it. They did not even want to play in that memorial game.

This is a great idea! I read about it - it's going to be called the "jadranska liga".

This will help all the teams and their respective countries that participate. It is good for the competition and development of more competitive players.

Besides, I think something like this will have further implications, ie it will be a start and something to work on in healing old wounds between ex-yu republics.

You are right. The Croats refuse to play with the Serbian clubs. But who can blame them?! ;) BTW it would be just fight and anger!!!! It is too soon!!!!

In last years Yugo League finals, which was between Partizan and Buducnost.(Partizan had taken out Red Star on route to the finals):D. In Montenegro, (game 2 of the series, I may be wrong) Tomasevic had a bad game and was very frustrated, so he blatently, elbowed a Partizan player in the face. This incident happend after the whistle had blown.! The Partizan player as a result had gotten a broken jaw. Tomasevic nearly didn't come to Belgrade for the next playoff match because the Grobari had threatned they would hurt him bad. During the match in Belgrade, chants provoking his sluty girlfriend and his next to none basketball skills were heard all over Pionir.

personally, i think the idea is interesting. but i have a question, does that mean that the participating teams will be involved in 3 leagues? their own country's league, the new slo-cro-sko-bih-mn league, and uleb/euroleague?

I think they would just be involved in the Yug-Slo-Cro-Mac league and in the uleb/euroleague.

The whole year will they play in new Yugo league. But they will join the national league at playoffs so these will be sort of qualification for European leagues!

The league will be called "jadranska liga" and Serbian teams will not participate (just montenegrian - Buducnost). The start of league is scheduled for October 2001. . In the league will participate 4 clubs from Croatia, 3 from Slovenia, 2 from Bosnia and 1 from Montenegro. The "official" confirmation is going to happen' in the Munich on the January 28, 2001.
This idea is "just" 3 years old !

asroma - Serbian teams won't participate in the first year of the league, but they most likely will be invited afterwards.

miha - you can't hate your neighbour forever. I have said this on many occasions; us people from old SFRJ are very similar - why do you think we united to make a common country in the first place? Just for the heck of it? No, because together we were much stronger. And this not only goes for economics and politics but also for sports. The current Yugo football or basketball league is a joke compared to old Yugo leagues.

Vlade Divac recently said he fully supports Jadranska Liga, and will have Partizan join it.:) But the scum from Montenegro don't want any Serbian clubs in the League, can you believe that? Montenegrans are really starting to irritate me..:mad:

Hey if you wanna go swimming in the adriatic, go to dalmacija. No joke. Have you been to the jadran on the montenegrin cost? It is the dirtiest obala you will ever see. Besides, it's a lot cheaper to go to somewhere like split or dubrovnik then bar or ulcinj.

Actually , my family owns a house at a small place on the coast, called Krasice, close to the Montenegran submarine station.:) I go there every summer. Don't dis Montenegran beaches they are pretty nice. Plus a place like Sveti Stefan can not be found anywhere in Croatia. :)
