Not unsatisfactory, but also not satisfactory.
For the most part the mods are doing ok.
Unfortunately, many do not have the capability to enforce forum rules throughout the entire forum. In addition to mod-less forums, there are many mods responsible for forums that are never online. Also, the admins leave the site freewheel quite a bit, relying on mods that are not well equipped.

The problems we have I think everyone knows them, but apart from that we do the best we can, you never see flaming on forums whose mods are active like Inter, Lazio or Madrid.

I hope the super-mods can solve many of those problems....

I think the whole site setup is great..it offers fans a window of oppurtunity to communicate with other fans and therefore really learn more about each other and the game of football...the moderators seem to be doing a good job in banning most ppl who are rude and not worthy of a place amongst our membership...but can u gusy tell me what else u do? and what ur powers are?

Poor management has always held this site back from being the forum it could and should be. It was poor when i was resigned as a mod almost two years ago and nothing has changed since. I don't mean this as a direct attack on the admins... Omar was always extremely accomadating anytime i requested his assistance but the reality was and still is, that Omar does not have enough time to maintain this site on his own and he should try to find somebody who can be around regulary to maintain the forums. They are among the worst maintained on the net. The moderators had no powers two years ago, which is a major reason i resigned, and it still appears that they have no powers now. As a consequence this site is 'home' to some of the biggest idiots on the net. The Super mods idea was floated back then and it still hasn't happened. It is something that is desperately needed..... 5-6 members appointed by the admins who will have control over the entire board and not just individual forums. These mods could then consult as a group and make the tough decisions that aren't being made around here. I really hope something happens as i'd love if this forum could reach the levels of activity which it once enjoyed.

Then upon the arrival of the super mod, further interpretations can be derived and the appropriate actions taken...

Also... to make things more fair... a mod can only suspend an account if the majority of online moderators agree. In addition, if there is only 1 mod online, then no suspension should be applied... just a suggestion

exactly.... that's customization, you need to now to know how to program.. Well... VBScript and perl anyway... It shouldn't be too difficult as long as you have already existing code....

Closing a bunch of thread doesn't really accomplish much anyway. They can always be restarted elsewhere. Regardless, [Example] I think the ronaldo thread was purposely left open by leon for others to contribute. Anyway, the system is somewhat primitive, generally this is the first forum i have contributed to so heavily (hmmm... more that 1 post), and I see the need for advancement. Human interaction and enforcement of rules is absolutely necessary... but, given the absence of the more priveleged users, there's no reason for the system itself, or perhaps more active users, such as mods to take control. This way... it could be possible to temporarily, or permanently block posts such as those Forced upon the public by Killa(example)... and other such users...

when you search on google soccer forum and you see this site appearing as the first one (if i am not mistaken), then you know that this site can get huge, and the biggest one on the net. I think people wlil join, and join, and events like the world cup etc etc will affect the people coming and everthing else so you might as well not worry too much as time tells everything.

You have only two types of people that are deserving of a ban. The haters, who you can ban based on the rules and da da da

and the pests - who like to annoy others, which you can simply ignore. Now that i think about it, if you ignore both types, they will eventually leave. But you see some people dno't like to do that, which will keep the forum going, the ones who want to say something can still say it, the ones who are there to cause trouble will only respond back to the ones who have responded to them, otherwise they won't be there long.
