I'd say Ronaldinho... He's doing pretty well for Barcelona! Zidane is a very experienced and an excellent player but he looks like he's losing his form since his good performance for France back at Euro 2004... Ronaldhino on the other hand will defeinitely surpass Zidane! :dontcare:

Zidane's still in the top of the world, but Ronaldinho is slightly behind him. In a year or less Ronaldinho will be considered as the best player of the world, but not yet, not yet.....

Based on season 2004-05 I think Ronaldinho is miles ahead of Zidane. However, Zidane is perhaps the greatest footballer of the past 5-6 years, and will probably be considered a legend when he retires, he's still capable of turning it on, and when he does, it's a joy for the eye. Technically I think Ronaldinho has the advantage, but the "smartest" player remains Zidane, he reads the game like no other.

Zidane's in bad shape right now, but people confuse it with the natural low-down because of the age, I don't think Zidane is reaching that phase, if you put Zidane in Barca for example, he would play great, but he's playing at Real, that's my point.

Ronaldinho, plain and simple. Zidane is good yet he lacks pace. Ronaldinho got some crazy ass moves and he will get better. He will slowly become the playmaker of Barcelona and guide the team more. He is still playing like he was in Gremio, doing crazy stuff etc. Totti too when he was 22 in Roma was playing differently then now. Ran a lot more and did very good tricks. Now he knows he has to slow down to make the plays. Dinho will become even better.

Yeh he's not really the playmaker at Barca, he's playing a little more upfront, Deco is the real playmaker, but I agree Ronaldinho will become the best player of the world soon.

Zizou's number one for now.. but as he approaches retirement the king will have to name his successor.. which is Ronaldinho.

I was reading this forum for a couple months and i found it intersting. however, in this tread that roladinho is better than zidane is quite non sens. zidane is among category one that include pele maradona destifano platini becanbauer creuf zico bagio. roladinho belongs to category two that have rivaldo ronaldo del piaro toti nedved breitner socrates eder falcao bekame...pele likens zidane to himselfe. destifano also said zidane makes him remember himselfe when playing for real madrid. although he admitted that he(destifano) was much faster than zidane. zidane is the most efficient dribler of all players among category one not talking about category two. he can drible a player with few moves of body or legs. even he can do that standing still between two or three players. zidane he has it all excepte he is not fast. ronaldinho is good one on one because to put it simply he has strong legs and indeed very fast player. he can force himselfe among three defenders because of that. to see clearly the difference, although is a shame to compare them, ones has to see the preparation game between france and brazil for euro 2004. simply, zidane combines grace eloquence and elegance. he is van goth of soccer. he is a living legend.

The categories you made are good mate....:).....(but I think Ronaldo belongs to level one too)....:D....but agreed with you Zidane is a living legend and he will be remembered for long time, but he's getting old, and going downhill too, and Ronaldinho is going up, that's why I say that he'll catch Zizou soon.
But let me tell you something, Ronaldinho has the potential to get a promotion to level one, that kid has something special, and many years ahead!

Ronaldinho's passes are not so good, and Zidane has better ball control, and better vision, but right now that isn't enough to match Ronaldinho's explosivity and dynamic, but just to make it clear, Dinho will never have the same skills of Zizou.

that means he will never be better than Ronaldo either cause Ronaldo is better than Zizou - by just a little, little bit though. (1 World Cup and 1 Golden Ball)

They all are pretty good, in different ways, but they're great players. I wouldn't dare to say Ronaldo is bettre than Zizou for example, about Ronaldinho, I think he needs more experience in order to being compared with the likes of those two.

Zinedine Zidane is without a doubt the best player in the past decade. However,he can either have "a good game" or "a bad game" throughout the game, though he is consistent most of the time.Whereas Ronaldinho is a genius magician who can either have a "good game" or "a BAD/or OK game while still having a GOOD game" throughout a match.Although u guys might feel confuse by the latter statement. Here, let me point an example. Remember, the Barca-Real Sociedad match in 2003/2004 season.Barca was on a winning streak and was tied 0-0 in the nou camp.and Bamm! Ronaldinho scored a free kick in the dying minutes.Oh,by the way,it was his 23rd B'day on that day.Soooo...u guys feelin' me?
As of this time of writing this post,Ronaldinho is still the best

Zidane best in the last 10 years? Opinion but I disagree. Zidane had his best years with Juve in the last 2 seasons he played with them and with Real at first but now he is not what he once was. You Zidane over Baggio and others like him?

Right now is obvious that Dinho is better, but I'm not too sure about the part that he will be better than Zizou ever was.....I mean, both are class players, but Dinho has a lot to prove yet, have you heard what's the difference between a good player and a great player?? (I'm sure you had, you seem to have pretty good football knowledge) That's exactly what Dinho has to prove, if he's a great player.....if he's a hall of famer, to put it in different words.....

I find Zidane a choker in big games. Apart from the wonder goal against leverkusen in 2002 final and the 2 headers in wc 98 final, zidane chokes at the time of big monents. eg in 97 cl final against dortmund, he was invisible. His poor performance against denmark at wc02, a game france had to win to go to next round. His misery of euro04.
Ronaldinho on the other hand, is a newcommer, and so far shows consistency. By the time ronaldinho reaches zidanes age, he would definately be a greater player in terms of overall achievement.

"His misery of euro2004"? LOL... is it just me or did I see more than 3 defenders clued to Zidane almost every game. And to talk about big game performances in euro2004, did you watch the England vs France game? Because it looks to me like you didn't see him score 2 goals in injury time to save France.
Zidane quit because he was carrying France on his back, thankfully he quit so he can at least concentrate on his last few years at football in Real Madrid where he actually gets paid enough for what he does.
Ronaldinho on the other hand is obviously performing much better than Zidane currently.
I can go on and on about the "big games" that he has performed, for example the one against Juventus where he was controlling the game until he was unfortunately subed off where less than 2 minutes later a goal was scored to lead Juve to a victory.
Zidane controls the game and comes out with beautiful finishers at the right time, just like Ronaldinho is controlling Barca and even though they lost to Chelsea Ronaldinho scored a free kick to boost the Barca team although they couldn't help Ronaldinho get back into it which is funny.
