West Brom caretaker boss Frank Burrows is remaining tight-lipped on the identity of the club's new manager.
Former Baggies' hero Bryan Robson has emerged as favourite after Glenn Hoddle was ruled out.
The new man will be unveiled on Monday and Burrows said: "I've spoken to the chairman and given him my thoughts on the matter.
"What was said will remain between us, but as for my future, I know I'm under contract until next summer."
Former England boss Hoddle ruled himself out at the same time Albion chairman Jeremy Peace said he would not be considered.
I think it is important to stress we have decided Glenn is no longer a contender

Hoddle said: "I had preliminary talks with West Brom but after three or four days I could see we were not really right for each other.
"We did not discuss finances or staff so reports to the contrary are wide of the mark."
That was backed up by Baggies chairman Peace who said: "I had a preliminary talk with Glenn Hoddle prior to drawing up a shortlist.
"Because of the incessant speculation linking him with the job, I think it is important to stress we have decided he is no longer a contender."
Former England captain Robson was a cult hero as a player at West Brom where he made 197 League appearances before joining Manchester United in 1981 for a then British record fee of £1.8m.
His swashbuckling style and bravery brought him more than his share of injuries, as well as the nickname Captain Marvel.
He was appointed manager of Middlesbrough in May 1994 and enjoyed his share of success on Teesside.
He twice earned Boro promotion to the top flight and took them to an FA Cup final and two League Cup finals.
He parted company with Boro in December 2000, and was appointed Bradford manager in November 2003.

But he was unable to repeat his success, and after just 28 games in charge of the cash-strapped Bantams, was fired having lost 20 matches.
Burrows was asked to take over the reins at the Hawthorns following Megson's departure and came within three minutes of getting their first away win of the season at Southampton.
Former Portsmouth and Cardiff manager Burrows would not be drawn on his own future at the club beyond confirming his current contract runs until the end of the season.
Burrows said: "I was asked to take over the caretaker's role and I agreed to do that.
"Beyond that, you'll have to ask the chairman as he's the only one who knows what's happening.
"My main task during the week was to convince the players that Gary Megson had gone, and that he wouldn't be coming back.
"It's been a pretty hectic week for the players and I had to try and get the players to concentrate on the task in hand, which was the game at Southampton."
