Okay well our womens soccer wasn't established until around 20 years ago, if that. And like when we win everybody's like it was because their team was having an off day or we got lucky. Did it ever occur to you we're actually good! I mean we have to have talent in order to win the olympics. The U.S.A.'s womens team just won the Olympics this year, and that was on talent so there! They beat China and Italy and everybody else so suck it up and admit we have talent! Ok better now I love you all, and I'm sorry if I insulted you. TTYL

if ur talking about solely womens football then yes ull have earned a right after practicing for many years and turning ur women into machines to call urselves the worlds best in that sport.
but winning the olympics is completely different from winning a world cup and yes maybe its more important to wear a gold medal around ur neck as a consolation for a good effort in a world cup where ull should have won and how ull lost is beyond me but thats just me.
as for the opposite gender team, i think that the last WC was all a matter of who beat who, entering the quarters is good but entering it without having to worry about another team winning/losing is the true stance of being good.
the US is a team with growing potential and yes maybe in a few more years (no exact numbers) they will come upto and possibly beat some of the worlds top super powers. we will have to wait and see how that tale unfolds but in all likelihood we will have to wait a generation to see a US victory as world cup holders unless they start naturalizing ppl as a method for a high influx of talent.
Not dissing anyone stating my opinion.

Well considering we are a nation where Football (not soccer) and Baseball (not soccer) is our national past-time, and we just acually STARTED having soccer, and liking soccer. Its not as popular in America as it is in other nations, meaning not as much options to choose from for talent-wise.

Soccer is a passionate sport.
People hate the USA no matter what; political, economical, social, pick something, anything, it's all an excuse, not a reason.
Unfortunately, this hatred does not stay within the arena it was created in; it carries over into soccer and a miraid of other areas.
By the same token, not all people hate the US. I've met people from around the world here and overseas. Great people everywhere, we need to be careful not to judge an entire nation or race by the actions of a few.
