why is arsenal bad in ecc and good in epl... i like ecc, but arsenal is not good in ecc.. i support arsenal because they play as a team in epl. i bet arsenal is the best team in fifa 2005!

epl is an easier league, it's really open and offensive, and arsenal strive on that, however when they play in europe and face different teams that play defensively, their game is not as effective

Is it really fair to say the EPL is easier?

Is easier for an offensive team like Arsenal. EPL's game is really open, and that's precisely Gunner's speciality. :)

Not too badly, we're 2nd in a group we should on paper be top of but we haven't lost yet. I've got a feeling there's better performances to come.

That's good, just hope you guys don't run into Madrid in the next phase. :silly:

Arsenal are overrated.People in england gush over them because for the last 18 years theyve had a techniquely inept league compared to spain and Italy and when a team comes along who can actually pass with skill and precision they think theyre from another planet. They may be a great team but theyre not the only one.

A team that loses to Bayer Leverkusen is no worry to me. :p

Admittedly we're a good team rather than a great one just yet.

The Leverkusen match was pure luck..... LOL j/k we played awful and they played terrific, what can I say??

And Arsenal is a great team, they have 49 undefeated matches.....what more can you ask from a team??

Yeah, that's right, but Real showed good bouncebackability to beat Roma in the following match. :)

Yes, it's excellent though this run will eventually have to come to an end. Sometime this season, I think. At least the record should remain for long afterwards.

LOL boucebackability....that must be a new word. :D

And yes, the run ended today mate, sorry about that, but your team will be in history. Was that the longest run??

Yes, there's a TV program here called Soccer AM trying to get it in the dictionary... :ronaldo:

Thanks, and yeah, it was the longest run by a big amount as far as I know. But it's definitely pleasing to remember what we've achieved, and to know that we're in the record books and should be for some time from now.

Technically inept!!!.thats a bit controversial....Technical football isnt good football in my opinion anyhow....It can be boring football though!!! ;)

I think arsenal's lack of success in European competition is proof that their dominance lies only in the EPL, however I think they are a good team that has the potential to become a great team

I'm afraid it is a fact that the English league has been inferior technically to Spain and Italy for a long time.In the last 18 years they've had 1 european cup finalist whilst Italy and Spain have had too many to mention. At international level England are passed around all the time by teams like Portugal for example because they have been taught from a young age how to control properly and swift one touch passing.Of course Spain are useless at international level but thats another matter.Perhaps this season at long last we'll see English clubs do something in Europe, but that'll be down mainly to their foreign players.

Some fair points Diego....but you have to remember also during that time our clubs were banned from Europe for a while.....And also Foreign players will always be a factor for ANY team that is successful....Madrid(Zidane,Figo,Ronaldo etc)...Milan(Van Basten,Gullet,Rijkaard etc).....et al.....I will concede that our youth are not as strong as in the past.....Kids here today are too busy practising their goal celebrations rather than their first touch!!...

Technical football for many are boring, however is up to each person, which personal opinion each one has and what are the things each one like to see.

Of course I like to see fast lighting football, fancy plays, lots of shots on goal, etc. But I also know to apreciate a good tactic, a smart formation, a pre-made play, a good tactical system, etc.

Of course that is part of the great mosaic of soccer......But i have always maintained that football is a simple game made compliacated by coaches who baffle players with science....and coach fear of losing into young players who never then go on to fulfil potential or certainly never go as far as they can.

Football is complicated for those who want to make it complicated, and it's simple by those who know and understand the real essence of football. However who said technical football has to be complicated??

Technical football isn't comlicated, keeping the game simple is the essence. For instance, the Dutch tactics during EURO 2004 were far too complex, the players simply didn't grasp it. Thankfully van Basten has gone back to the basis.
Btw leo, stop your pathetic attempts at sounding clever, we know you're a dumb dick, you don't need to prove it. :)

Again, tactics aren't all complicated, some may and some may not, but you can always have a simple tactic.

And Menasaur, talking all that stupid things surely makes YOU look clever...

Indeed, Dickhead Advocaat's tactics were too complex, players like Bouma, Heitinga, Sneijder, with un-developed brains, didn't grasp it.
Kezman scores best when the team plays simple football he said. So Mourinho shouldn't make the game plan too complicated and let Kezman do what he will with the ball, and the goals will surely come.

Personally I hope not, but that's just me. :)
Saw the highlights of the match, decent win for Chelsea over rivals but the margin of victory should have been much bigger.

For sure........But Jimmy Walker had a blinder.....I dont mind 1-0's as long as we are hitting the target and not sticking em in Row Z...You cant account for a blinding Goalkeeping display...Not happy with the West Ham neanderthals though!! :boo:
