he should be banned for getting booked on purpose, in my eyes he is a cheat
David Beckham could be fined £100,000 but will escape a ban for getting booked deliberately against Wales, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper adds he "seems certain to retain the England captaincy."
Beckham faces an FA inquiry and was criticised by Fifa after he fouled Ben Thatcher to earn a second yellow card.
That meant he could miss the World Cup qualifier against Azerbaijan, a match he would have had to miss in any event after breaking two ribs against Wales.
The FA's complinace unit have considered Beckham's explanation of events and are ready to act, with an announcement expected before the end of the week.
Fifa president Sepp Blatter has already indicated that an apology from the Real Madrid star would not be sufficient.

Like no one knew that he was doing it on purpose when it was aired on television? He should not be banned for it for sure. He just wanted a clean book for later matches.

I agree with Leon of Silvren... Beckham should have kept his mouth shut. His plan was clever but telling the media about it was stupid. Why did he have to open his mouth?

he should be forced to listen to posh's records over and over, though that might be a bit to harsh.

Well even if everybody knew he did it on purpose he can't be punished for that, because it's just speculations, nothing official.

I think he is at the point where he is looking at it from this point:
End the speculations that he has had since he became famous. The whole "did he mean to, or did he not" must be getting old.
By just admitting to it, people cannot question what his reasons were.

You're trying to say he's getting tired of fame....

I'm sure that he must be tired of the fame and the craze by now, but I'm not too sure that this incident has anything to do with it

I don't know either, however what Becks (poster above) said makes sence, by just admiting it, he saves himself from being in the covers of the papers and in the news, the media wouldn't take care much of it and the speculations end.

He has actually considered retiring, and often wishes he had never gotten so famous because of everything that has happened. I am sure it is a lot of glory/money/etc. but there is no luxury of being able to eat in public without mobs chasing you.

I suppose he's going through a moment of weakness, being injured and all.

Aye, agree with ya there, but just like Beckham always does, we can expect to see him spring right back to life when needed!
