What are we choosing this on? Simply, 'who has been the best player in the last year?'...

I think its between Ronaldinho,Henry and Shevchenko

there seems to be a lot of players there on reputation rather than performance, for example i'd say germany's best player over the 2004 season was philip lahm of vfb stuttgart but he's not selected because he has'nt got the high profile of ballack or kahn yet. The most obvious farce on the list is of course david beckham, can't convert a penalty to save his life, but hey he's a fashion icon and he married a spice girl so of course this guarentee's him a place on the list for all eternity. If i had to pick i'd take shevchenko.

Ronaldinho or Henry.

Bit of a tough choice but I went for Henry. Call me biased, but he's been absolutely sensational for Arsenal, never seen anyone else play like he does on a regular basis. Very hard though considering players like Schevchenko, Lampard and Rondaldinho who have also been fantastic for their teams are in the poll also.

Admittedly, I wouldn't call him the complete player just yet - I don't see him doing too much heading or tackling. But in the future, I think to be a complete player is well within his capabilities.

Shevchenko, though I do not like him very much, but he has been impressive, he is the X-factor for Milan in games, and it was a very close call between Adriano and him, but he has been so consistent over the years.

And it would be dumb not to choose Serie A's best attacker

Well Henry is winning the award, for now....

And I think is the fairest call, last Arsenal's unbeaten season was a big part because of him, and this year he's still playing at great level. Ronaldinho comes close as my second choice, Barca's lift-up was because of him, and because of that lift-up is that they're playing so great this season, so the credit for the sucess of Barca is for Ronaldinho.

I think these sorts of pols are useless, the reason I say this, in a world poll so many great players get left out, players you have never seen let alone heard of are in them, how to compare a player you have never seen, or heard aobut with one you have???, if defoe was in it I would vote for him mas I am a spurs fan, same with will and his Ars player, its not ballanced let alone fair, you might as well have a poll on the best country in the world, most ppl will vote for there own

Same as me? I explained why I voted for Henry. Can you explain why you would vote for Defoe? What's so good about what he's done?
