How to get more users

We need to get on www.big-boards.com and to do that we need to have 500,000 total posts, we have 290,000 so far so we need 210,000 more posts, any ideas how to get the post count up per day?

What about telling your friends to get on the board?

The forum is directed towards a world-wide audience. The problem with that is that the forum's main language is English. Not all speak or write English proficiently.

Another thing is that there is so much fighting and arguing here that many are discourage from participating. The Admin needs to actually administrate so that the forum doesn't freewheel.

what we should do is pointing out to whoever is using unapropiate language....

if we dont tell them, they find it accpetable, we cant always wait for things to get into the admins hand.... place the law in ur own hands

The only thing I've ever seen, when bringing this to their attention, is more argument.
A moderator may have more influence, but I've seen moderators act the same way sometimes.

The flaming on the board had decreased a lot, I think that's not a problem anymore, what we have to do is keep the board active, eventually it'll encourage people to join.

yeh lol if we could have hidden topics we could just post and post again but i say the best way is to post as much as u can and get more users
or have one or some ppl person create a user name and in just testing put in 1000's of posts

Well that should change soon, I'm seeing more activity on the board now. And there are lots of improvements to come, that will atract more people as well.

And guys, please stop thinking about ways of cheating, like valda said, if we're gonna do this, let's do it right....

I've noticed a lot more posts on here from when I came. I can leave the computer for a day and come back to look through 10 pages of new posts in new topics. Not every site has that. I know that another site I go to has maybe 7-9 pages of new topics/ posts when I leave for a day. So you guys are running a realitively active site. :)

They're not annoying like in other sites, here you only get 1 when you log on, and after that you don't get anymore. I don't really think that pop-ups are keeping away people from registering....

You re-loaded the OS and you're still getting that many pop-ups that lock up IE?
You may need to update your anti-virus definitions and change your security settings in IE.
