well i have to say i was very very impressed by the performance of the US after reading and hearing about the Czechs i really expected the Czechs to win i knew that the US could win and to be honest they should have the game was a very exciting high paced game and the americans had the better chances and the 1st czech goal was lucky although it was a great individaul run but as friedel went to gsave it he slipped on the turf only getting a hand to it had he not slipped he would have an pretty easy save anyway wolf and albright played not great but excelent and i am very happy to say that they played a great game thw whole team and it was unlucky that they tied because they realy did have the better ampunt of possession and the better chances but it was a very entertaining high paced match like i said keep up the good work

If the united states don't make it to at least the semi-finals then they suck ass. i was looking at the other teams in the tournament and nobody is playing anyone, and the US has 3 first team national players on there side. i was not very impressed with the match. all i hear about is how much young talent the united states has and i don't see anything to brag about. i don't know who came up with the idea that US would win the 2010 world cup but i have a better chance of being captain for manchester united next match than of that happening.

nice one USA http://www.worldsoccerboard.com/ubb/smile.gif

though I'd say it is more the question of luck. Czechs are more of an average side lately.. but hey USA an average world power.. congrats.. , it's hard work to get there, and I am not being sarcastic as most of you will say.

What's USA ranked like ? 30th ?

this has nothing to do with England. All i am saying is that i have not seen any US players that are going to lead the nation to world cup glory. It was a good game, i am not saying it wasn't. But i was expecting to see a couple of Americans with the potential to be world class players and i didn't see any (from either side).

alright i will give you that gb but the truth is that the 2 players are susposed to be the 2010 players are only 18 right now damarcus bealsy and landon donovan will get there chance to prove themselves they alrready proved they are the best 2 players in the world at there age last year in the u-17 world cup but they will get there chance wether it is in the olympics or not and i am glad to see that they are not being rushed on to the national team because the extra pressure does alot as we saw in 98 what happened to ronaldo that wont happen here they will get there chance trust me watch and see gb

BY THE WAY ZOLA WE ARE RANKED 19 WHICH IS ABOUT WHERE WE SHOULD BE

I agree that you should never rush a player. but i question if they are playing against good enough competition to get ready for the next level. The great players are already playing against the best in the world when they are 18 years old. Ronoldo didn't play for Brazil because at the time bebeto and romario were better than him, but he was playing against the worlds best at club level. i know that in england if you are 18 and expected to have a big impact for the national team you are playing in the premiership. Owen, Cole, Gerrard, Carrick, Ferdinand, Woodgate, Heskey, Barry, these are the players that everyone in Europe expects to give england such a great future, and they are all playing in the premiership, and some of them have had impacts for the national teams already.

ok well you have to take consideration that mls and epl are in differnt levels ok and you have to take under consideration that english players in epl is a given almost and it takes alot for an english team to sign an american but it can pay off because you cant tell me that joe max moore was not one of the hottest players in the epl at one point injuries have sloewd him down but he was red hot then and i think a few more amerocans could make a impact in england

joe max moore started out well but he only has scored 4 goals so far, in as many matches he has played that really isn't that great. If you look at the top strikers in the league, they score 1 goal every 2 matches (20 goals) that is the standard. i am not sure how many premiership matches he has played in i can asure you he is not at that rate. and i am sorry to say but the reason why there was such a big deal about moore had little to do with how good or bad he played. it had to do with an american actually scored in the premiership more than once. there was a time where that looked like that may have never happened.

USA is 19th ? how could this happen... the national team ain't that good.

They make up the ranking from wins and draws..etc.. USA I guess beat a lot of lower team to earn points http://www.worldsoccerboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif (lilphenom, I bet you are gonna scream on that, hehe)

Hey though.. to be 19th is a great achievment.. congrats. Though I don't think the USA is that high of a quality. Just my opinion so don't bomb me.

i am not gonna bomb since you asked nicely http://www.worldsoccerboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.worldsoccerboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif no but really we have beaten good teams and then we never moved up in rankings and now that we are beating lower class teams we are moving up it makes no since to me how bout you?? i mean look we beat argentina germany twice chile twice and stayed in the same spot now those are all quality teams and now that we are beating guetemala barbados we are moving up it makes no since to me but anyway i think we are in about 19 no higher right now 30 i dont see your logic in that

first, thanks http://www.worldsoccerboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

second, the ranking is based on points from matches played... that's why USA is 19th.. hey I am gonna say it again. It's a great achievment. Nothing to be made fun of... I just don't think USA is "really" that good. WC2002 is where I might change my opinion.

The rankings are sponsored by Coca Cola, I think that the US drank the most coke to get to 19 !
