WELL IN MY HONEST OPINION U TRULY THINK THE US CAN MAKE IT TO THE BRONZE MEDAL MATCH WHICH WOULD MEAN REACHING THE SEMIS AND LOOSONG IN THE SEMIS BUT I THINK THAT IS A GOOD GOLA TO SET FOR US WE HAVE A FAIRLY EASY GROUP ALTHOUGH YOU CANT OVERLOOK ANYONE I STILL THINK THAT THIS TEAM IS TALENTED ENOUGH TO MAKE IT THAT FAR IKNOW MOST OF THE WORLD DOESNT CARE ABOUT OLYMPIC FOOTBALL/SOCCER BUT ITS A KINDA OF MEASURING STICK OF WHERE OUR UNDER 23 TEAM IS COMPARED TO THE REST OF THE WORLD BECAUSE I MEAN IN 2-4 YEARS THOSE GUYS WILL BE ON THE SR NATIONAL TEAM SO ITS IMPORTANT HERE ANYWAY WHAT IS YOUR SAY ????

Historically our youth teams have done better than the Men's team. That speaks loudly and sadly to our training system.

well mirkwood you have to look at it at a different view now in the past after they finished playing youth here they had no where to go they were not given a chance in europe and mls did not exisy now if they arnt good enough to go to europe yet then they have mls to fall back into for a few years trust me we are only goning to benifit from mls even if people say it is low class United States soccer will benifit from it and continue to improve and become better and better

Oh I agree. Soccer ended for me when I graduated from High School. I could have played in local leagues, but there really was nowhere for me to go. I also probably was not good enough, but then there was nobody to teach me good ball control skills. The youth now have such a fantastic opportunity, and I am glad to see so many taking advantage of it. Now if we could only get rid of college soccer. It could be the death of us yet!!!

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised to see the US Men make the second round, but that's probably about where it'll end. We've got a team full of professionals for the first time (or at least since 1924 - I don't know my history all that well) which should help us out, and Cameroon just lost a bunch of their squad. Czech Republic will be tough, and Kuwait might be our equal in terms of youth players.
Either way, they should be fun games to watch...
Now the Women, on the other hand - yikes. Talk about a rigged draw...
