well in a must win situation i can easily say that the US came through and came through huge 7 goals from 6 players the us statred off great scoring 2 goals in the first 25 min or so and then 2 Barbados players recieved there 2nd yellow cards the EARNING RED CARDS :d 1st player was thrown out for throwing a punch a cobi jones and then the second player for a vicious tackle on chris armas who had to leave the game with a possibley torn mcl which is not good and after that the goals pured in the US had the ball in Barbado's half for over 65 + min and the US created chance after chance just pouring on the shots but i will say the barbados did his share and made some very good saves but the US tokk at least 25 + shots golas scored by:
POPE McBRIDE 2 MAX MOORE O' BRIEN RAMOS STEWART
OVERALL THIS WAS ALL ?uNITED STATES AND BARBADOS DID VERY LITTLE IF EVERYTHING AND THE us GOT A WELL DESERVED AND IMPORTANT WIN AND THE CROWD WAS EXTRMELY SUPPORTIVE OF THE TEAM CAPTAIN CLAUDIO REYNA WAS SUB OFF FOR PRECATIOUS REASON IN THE SECOND HALF AFTER PLAYING A SOLID MATCH GODD JOB BOYS KEEP IT GOING http://www.worldsoccerboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.worldsoccerboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Even with 11 men, Barbados was not showing much competition. Their best player is their GK, who made some fantastic saves, particularly on Moore in the tenth minute. I still can't beleive he stopped that shot, what a save!!! The red card was most deserved, I taped the game, and watched it several hours later, and rewound the tape to watch the incident. There is no excuse for driving your elbow into the back of another players head. The second red, after receiving a yellow was appropriate too. Quite honestly, I was susrprised that Pineda did a good job reffing the match. I have watched him in the past make some really bad calls. All in all, a good job by the US squad. What a difference it makes to get players back, and get people playing in the position they are used to.
Did you also catch the commentator saying that O'Brien has won a starting position with Ajax this past week?

it was a great victory, and a big cofidense booster. but i must say that i was not that impressed by what i saw, besides the result. out of the 7 goals i think only 3 of them were well taken (mcbide's, ramos's, and obrein). although the united states won by a huge score, i still don't think they played very well. or if thats the best they can play than i don't understand why people are so optimistic about the world cup. i do think mcbride and moore played well together up front but i think they could use another forward playing behind them (like scholes does for united and england) maybe razov. i say this because armas does not get farward at all. i think the united states would be better off playing a 3-5-2. moore and mcbride up front, razov playing behind them. regis and jones on the wings. reyna and senta (or someone else) in the middle. and then agoos, pope, and someone on the right. with friedel in goal. i think that team could be good, because the team i watched, although they got a good result, would not scare me if england found themselves in the same world cup group.

WELL GB I AGREE AND DISAGREE WITH YOU I THINK RIGHT NOW IF WE WERE TO PLAY ENGLAND AT A NUETRAL GROUND SUCH HAS KOREA IT WOULD BE EITHER TEAMS MATCH BECAUSE ENGLAND HAS NOT IMPRESSED LATELY NOW WE HAVE NOT BEEN EXACTLY STUNNING EITHER BUT I DONT THINK THAT ENGLAND ARE AS GOOD AS THEY TRADITIONALLY ARE RIGHT THIS MOMENT AS FOR THE 3-5-2 I AGREE BUT YOU HAVE THE WRONG PLAYERS IN THE WRONG POSITIONS ARMAS IS NOT AN ATACKING PLAYER IS IS NOT SUSPSED TO MOVE UP HE IS OUR BALL WINNER AND IS A HUGE LOSS IF IT IS INDEED HIS MCL AS FOR RAZOV IT IS TOO BAD THAT MCBRIDE AND MOORE ARE ON THE TEAM BECAUSE HE IS A VERY GOOD PLAYER BUT MCBRIDE AND MOORE HAVE GREAT CHEMISTRY TOGETHER AS DO REYNA AND ARMAS I THINK THAT ARENA SHOULD USE THE 5 MIDFIELDERS WITH JONES ON THE RIGHT FLANK AND LEWIS OR STEWART ON THE OTHER FLANK AND REYNA ARMAS AND O'BRIEN. AND YES O'BRIEN HAS WON A STARTING SPOT AT AJAX AND IS DESERVING OF IT HE PLAYED A GREAT MATCH AND SCORED NOT EVEN A MIN AFTER BEING SUBED IN ON A GREAT INDIVIDUAL GOAL AND IT LOOKS AS HIS BALL CONTROL HAS GOTTEN MUCH BETTER FROM SOME OF THE MOVES I HAVE SEEN BUT THEN AGAIN IT COULD BE THE WEAK BARBADOS DEFENCE BUT ANYWAY IT WAS A HUGE CONFIDENCE BUILDER AND WE SHOULD BE IN GOOD SHAPE IN THE GOAL DIFFERENTIAL AFTER THAT !!!

BTW: The 1st red card given to Barbados should not have happened. Cobi punched the guy first and started the incident.

by the way i kind of do agree that comi did shall i say shoved him first and probally should have recieved a yellow card but reagdless the barbados player through a closed fisted punch and that was surely deserving of a second yellow card but as we have seen many times against the US that the home team will usually get the call in there favor but that call unlike the ones against the US did not conflict with the final result of the match but yes cobi did shove him 1st from what i saw there may have been another incident but i am not gonna deny that cobi appeared to start it
