six of those goals were from the spot... Totti did have a great season though since 14 goals (not from penalties) and a lot of assists makes a very successful campaign. He was a ballon d'or candidate for sure until he let his temperament get the best of him in Euro. Totti will never acheive anything big because he can't stay calm in moments of frustration. He's also done a poor job lately of motivating his troops when most needed... with the squad that Roma has, there is no reason for them to have such a poor start. Totti has to do something to get his team's act together. It's his duty as captain.

I totally disagree. 20 goals is 20 goals. Vieri also scored a lot of pk's and so did Sheva but they still counted as goals.

Totti is world class. We have an average team and our poor start is given that we play with a team that never played before with each other and that this summer traveled way to much, the Roma board organized this summer wrong man, and to tell you the truth, I dont think we are the team we once were. totti is the best player in the world for me. i say to the people who say he is over rated to check hsi goals against sampdoria last year. inter this year. belarusia this year. his without a doubt deserves to be nominated world player of the year. they put names of maldini,nesta,ayala,owen. this all arent better then totti.totti for me is the best. and he isnt overrated.owen did nothing to real madird thsi year and with liverpool last year he didnt do anything either . he also did nothing in euro2004 .but totti did 20 goals to roma last year . which many of them were great goals (like sampdoria,modena,empoli,bologna...)and they didnt pcik him. this is not right. totti is the best.
