Germany vs. Iran
I cant say what will happen because if im not mistaken Iran had there way with Australia in an overwhelming score of 4-1. Although Germany hasn't looked strong this year I still expect Germany to run away with this match with a score of 2-1.

you are mistaken, iran never beat australia 4-1. As for the match against germany, naturally i'd expect a german victory but it's being played in iran so i don't expect a huge win, maybe as u said something like 2-1, since klinsmann took over germany's played more positive football, beating austria away 3-1 and drawing with brazil, he's also integrating more young player's into the team which in my opinion is long overdue. i think kuranyi will miss the iran game through injury, which is a loss because lately he's in great form for germany,4 goals scored in the last 2 games.

Thank you Germany!
By Nima Navy
PFDC - As Iranians, and as passionate fans of the Team-Melli(Iranian National team) from around the world, we send our most heartfelt thanks to the German nation for their friendship!
In a humanitarian gesture the German Football Federation sent their
world-class team to Tehran not only to help raise money for the earthquake
victims of Bam, but donated additional funds for the victims and to Iran’s
football program.
Germany, a time-tested friend of Iran, traveled to our country to come to
the aid of our people, and at the same time helped introduce our game to the
world through its tremendous football prestige.
The game itself was one of the most exciting from our perspective. Probably
more than anything this game corrected a lot of mistaken notions about how
Iran stacks-up against a powerful world-class team. This is a wonderful
achievement for our football.
I think many of us expected Iran to play a careful and almost apprehensive
game against the World Cup finalists. But the team held its nerve, took the
game to the opponent, and didn’t fold at all. I walked away from the
television amazed and bewildered at how well Iran had played and how the
score didn't tell the story of the game.
In a funny way it reminded me of the 1974 World Cup final in Munich when
Johan Cryuff and company knocked on the door all game long just to be
denied. I watched that game as a child and I never forget how the graceful
and elegant Dutch with their beautifully crafted game were frustrated and
ultimately robbed by a very clever and patient German side. Our team of
course is a very different story.
But this game was one of those occasions when many things clicked and we saw a fluid game of positive attack-minded football from the Team-Melli and on that was amazingly capable from a tactical point of view. The midfield play
was fantastic and it created chance after chance earning a total of 17
corners, an incredible amount of pressure by any standard, and this was
Germany conceding these corners to keep the ball out of its goal.
The game was one of the greatest tactical performances we have seen from any Iran team I can remember, and I remember many. It made me think we have tactical ability if and when we play a worthy opponent. It convinced me that executing tactics on the field is more than organized team-work, that every football match has its own chemistry and dynamics depending on which two teams are playing, and that our game is pulled down by the kind of
third-rate opposition we normally play against in Asia. I firmly believe we
need to find a way to have greater football interaction with the Europeans
and Latin-Americans.
This game was a confidence-building step forward and it will go down as a
great game. We have enormous potential and this is no exaggeration. The
Europeans believe in our potential too. We must organize tournaments and
invite great teams because it won’t happen nearly as fast in Asia and we can
’t continue to be held back. We need to move beyond this kind of football
stagnation dictated by our geography and the general pace of things in Asia
and find our true potential by linking up with Europe. Let’s work to make
this happen!

Germany should play a couple of decent teams, not average to crap-sized team like Iran. Otherwise the Germans will get done over all over again in 2006.
Seriously, who's backing this hopeless team up to win the trophy in their backyard?

u should be better informed before making your dumbass comments, does brazil qualify as a decent team coz germany played them a month ago and drew 1-1, they also got argentina and holland coming up on their schedule, it would'nt suprise me at all if they lift the trophy in 2006.

It probably wouldn't, then again, it doesn't suprise me that Australians don't know how weak the current German team is. Brazil was an exception, but so far, other teams have been of adequate to crap quality in their friendlies.
And please give me the exact date of the friendly with Holland, coz as far as I can see, Holland isn't playing a friendly against those pathetic amateurs any time soon.
I'll have to check Argentina out, but I'm pretty sure who'll win that one.

I may be from australia but i'd put my knowledge of german football up against anybody's, germany's next match is against cameroon, the argentina match is in feb2005 with the holland match later in the year, their also guarenteed quality opposition at the confederations cup next june with teams like brazil, argentina, euro champs greece and even heavyweights like the socceroos. They also have an asian tour at the end of this year, matches against korea and japan among others, so overall their schedule's a mix of strong and mediocre opponents. I believe people such as yourself will be in for a big surprise in 2006, the current german team is'nt as good as many previous german teams but the potential is there for it to do great things, the goalkeeping is guarenteed to be strong with either kahn, lehmann or timo hildebrand(probably my personal choice), the defence will be solid as klinsmann's doing what voeller should have done prior to euro2004 and getting rid of old bodies like nowotny, linke etc. and replacing them with younger talent. Midfield will be germany's biggest strength, they have a big pool of talent here with michael ballack, sebastian deisler(if he stays healthy),bastian schweinsteiger all outstanding and crucial to germany's sucsess, other key players will be stuttgarts phillip lahm, torsten frings and possibly kevin kuranyi. Which leads me to my only real concern, that being the strikers, this is what killed them at euro2004, kuranyi shows promise but disapointed badly in portugal, though this could have been a mistake on voeller's part by playing him virtually alone up front, klinsmann's a lot more attack minded and since he's taken charge kuranyi's scored 4 goals in 2 matches(3 v austria, 1 v brazil), as for the other striker's klinsmann seems to have taken a shine to gerald asamoah though i'm not totally sold on him yet, klose depending on his form can be very effective, there's also a few young talents that need to be given more time like lukas podolski, benny lauth, and possibly michael hanke of schalke. Despite this question mark over the striker's i'm fairly confident of a good showing come 2006, germany's unrivalled consistency in world cups also should be considered before passing judgement on them, they've made the quarter finals or last 8 of every world cup going back to 1954, that's 13 consecutive world cups over a period of 50 years, and the streak only ends there because they were banned by fifa for the 1950 event following ww2. Nobody comes close to matching that consistency not even brazil. Add the fact that their playing at home and i'm relatively confident they'll be in the final and hopefully take the title.

Pretty decent post, but arguments that can all be easily combatted, and a few question marks do arise here. If I had to take a guess I'd say, you started gloryhunting round 90, when they won the World Cup. It's good that your'e staying with them, even through the dark times, and the up-coming darker times :)
The match with Holland is not a set-date yet. Anything can happen. Don't cheer too soon. Cameroon would be close to Germany's level though at the moment.
Your'e even more pathetic than I though if you start claiming that the big teams bring full-strength sides to the Confed Cup. And Greece were nothing more than lucky winners, like the Krauts getting to the final of 02. Look at Greece in the qualifiers for 06 so far, crap and crap.
Still, I don't know how I will be suprised. You prefer Hildebrand, coz he's better right?, thing is, Kahn will be number one next year and until he retires.
One of Germany's best defending talents of recent times is Metzelder, but where the fuk is he now? Apart from that, which central defender is actually good enough to step in Beckenbauers, Brehme et al's footsteps? nobody, that's who
Deisler will never stay healthy for a long run, and will never break-trough, perdiod. Give it up kid. Schweinsteiger is alright, but is still not there yet to convince me that he what it takes to be a star. Soley relying on Ballack doesn't get you amatuers anywhere, as we saw in the Euro.
Frings plays for Bayern not Stuttgart, and if you consider Kuranyi a world-class striker than your'e without a doubt a plain fuking idiot. And all those other "promising" players haven't shown shit yet for der Mannschaft, so don't cheer too soon.
And finally, brining some meaningless historical stats into it, is just down-right pathetic and amatueristic. History doesn't mean fuk all, as if Italy's WC history isn't impressive. But we all know what happened to those chokers in 02.

i'm not about to do a check on u, it's obvious u hide your country coz it brings u great shame and it's obvious your abominus, unless he has an identical twin who also happens to be an ill informed asswipe. btw it's ironic that u accuse others of gloryhunting when it's clear u have a soft spot for brazil, that makes u the ultimate gloryhunter. as for me i've been supporting germany since the'82 worldcup not'90, so that should tell u i'm a fair bit older than you who has probably been around for little over a decade, tell me how does it make someone a gloryhunter for supporting a country that their family hails from, who am i supposed to support 'england'. Yes i'm aussie born so i also support the socceroo's but it's harder to get into supporting them coz they basically play 1 or at best 2 meaningful games every 4 years. O.K it's obvious u don't think much of germany's chances, u call italy choker's, u bag england as a crap team (we agree on one thing), so what's your 'expert' opinion on 2006, to me it comes down to germany, brazil, argentina, holland, italy i'd be very surprised if it was anyone else. Actually i already know what u think, your thinking argentina and brazil but u won't write off holland even though u know they'll probably choke.

Because I don't mention where I'm from, I'm ashamed? Perhaps if I was from the United States, but no, your'e way off the mark again kid. I can see that there a few posters here that cause trouble, nice little atmosphere, so it doesn't surprise me that your tiny cranium easily comes to the conclusion that I am a former flamer who was expelled or whatever.
In other posts I have bagged Ronaldo, and he's Brazilian isn't he?, and Iv'e called Ronaldinho the ugliest player in the world, so how the fuk do you come to the conclusion that I have a soft spot for them? Out of all countries, I don't want Brazil to win in 06, I'd much rather see a new team win it, such as Spain, Holland, or maybe even the Czech for example.
Funny how you claim to have German roots, did somebody tell you that that automatically means they are a great soccer nation too? Once were yes, but just own up to it kid, Germany are fuking pish, and with probably no major chances from the 04 team in 06, they'll probably go quite a bit, with the ref's assistance and all, but should all the heavyweights safely go through the first round, then Germany's run will be short-lived.
I call Italy chokers, ok let's see, 1 euro cup, 1 world cup for the past 14 WC's, 3 overall. For a country that has 3 prof leagues, and boasts some of the world's best every time around, their trophy cabinet is pretty pathetic wouldn't you think?
You obviously don't know what I think you lousy pisspole. I think certainly at least another "dark-horse" will be in the semi's, yes I do think Brazil will be there, simply coz they are so talented, not coz I like them, holland usually do well in germany, though history doesn't count for anything, and I have a feeling Portugal can go far, if they want.

your one to talk about flamers, i hav'nt seen one post from u that's not abusive u angry little twat, and what's the big deal about saying where your from or who u support for that matter, anyway i don't regard italy as chokers, your right about them not winning many titles in modern times but they've come close at italia90,us94 and euro2000, i think it's rare these days to see a team dominate an entire tornament from start to finish, usually there's one or two key moments that could go either way that decides who takes the title and in this respect italy just hav'nt had the luck, though i would say italy are chokers when it comes to penalty shootouts but not overall. Maybe you overestimate italy's talent, theres plenty of teams with talented players, take a look at hollands players over the years from cruiff to van basten, gullit, bergkamp, van nistelrooy, kluivert etc and what did they ever win, only euro'88, in my opinion italy has'nt matched that talent producing really only 3 truly great players in modern times, baggio, maldini, baresi. A team like spain is also usually labelled a choker but to me they perform exactly how i expect them, their always overated going into the big tornaments, probably coz they have such a strong league but that's due mostly to the foriegn imports, seriously name a truly great spanish player in recent times, there's not many, some good players but not many great. u also mentioned the czechs who i don't mind but they will only get so far without nedved, and yes theres sure to be a darkhorse or outsider that will surprise and go far, that's usually the case but as i said the bottom line is the trophy will be decided by only a handful of nations that being germany, brazil, italy, argentina and possibly holland, u may not like that but thats the reality.

Comparing the talent that these two teams aswell as Holland and Italy have is foolish.
And calling it reality makes you an even more of an aboriginal primitive than you already are.
Italy choked in the 2000 final, especially Del Piero, Italy shouldv'e ran over the South Koreans twice in 02, like they did against Ecuador in their first match, and Italy seriously choked in 96. That's already 3 times within less than 10 years, they aren't chokers? shut your dumb trap kid.
I never claimed that Spain, Holland, or Czech will win it, though you give the impression I have. Thing is, I to SEE them winning it, coz it's always nice to see a new winner, especially if this team also plays adventurrous football.
And Cruyff is one of the greatest players ever, possibly the greatest to come out of Europe, and you can't even spell his name like youv'e never even heard of him. You still gotta long way to go before I even consider taking you seriously. Go take a cold shower laddy.

Yes, youv'e convinced me that you're older than me, not. You're probably some pimple-faced pencil-necked geek, who is too pussy to play rugby so he "pretends" he's a huge soccer fan. And coz of a distant relative being German, he's got a perfect excuse for actually being part of a "real" soccer nation.
Funny that with every post you provide fewer arguments, and make more of an aboriginal asswipe out of yourself. I think Euthenasia is legal in Australia isn't it? do it man, you won't feel a thing, but terminate your pathetic life a.s.a.p
you probably think that by not mentioning your crappy team/country that it gives u the upper hand but all it does is show what a gutless, worthless little piece of vomit u are, australia are'nt the greatest team but i've got no problem admitting where i'm from, u on the other hand are probably the only coward on this whole forum who's afraid/ashamed to admit your from some backward shithole of a place. btw i grew up playing both rugby league and soccer, their both great sports but i definatly prefer the roundball game, as for u maybe u should start following lawn bowls or some other lame sport because your knowledge of football is non existent. Can't wait for 2006, i wonder how a braindead retard such as yourself will react if germany lifts the trophy, i would'nt be surprised if a gloryhunting shithead like u would then decide to jump on the bandwagon.

Makes perfect sense once again, in the euro the pathetic krauts went out in the first round, 0-0 with a team crapper than you skippies, and lost to a Czech B - team. Yes, I'm braindead to think those bradenwurst amateurs stand no chance to become world champs in 06.
Thing is, if nobody questioned where you were from, you'd still be pretending like the pathetic dick that you are that your'e from Germany and speak fluent German and know everything bout the culture bla bla bla
rugby league is a great sport? that's why as far as I know you idiots, nz, uk, and france take that game seriously, and some other crap islands in the pacific ocean.
jump on the german bandwagon? with freaks like schweinsteiger and jeremies in a team, you'd have to pay me some nice big dineros before I start singing Germany unter alles :)

yes your braindead, what do u think the oddsmaker's are gonna do come 2006, germany will be at least in the top 3 favourites, probably higher, so if they can see it why can't a cruiff lovin' homo like u see it. btw u hopeless bozo iv'e made it clear since day 1 that i'm from australia, but dads german, i can speak german, iv'e been to germany more times than i can count, i know german history and culture like the back of my hand so i think this explains my allegiance to germany as well as oz, anyone with half a brain could understand that except of course a dweeb such as you. Your comment about schweinsteiger and jeremies once again shows that when it comes to german football your a total novice, jeremies won't be in germany in 2006 coz he's already retired from the national team, why open that gaping mouth when it's obvious u know f**k all about anything.

As if the bookmakers odds reflect how strong a team is and how they are an accurate prediction of things to come. I'm sure Greece was 2-1 favs to win it in 04 right? again, you just can't stop coming back with pathetically weak arguments can you.
I'll go to any old library, take out some German books, and take a few German language classes, there, I'm German. You're as much German as the carpet rug I just took a shit on.
Jeremies was just an example, I knew that deformed fag doesn't play for Germany anymore, heck I couldv'e put you in the team if we're going by appearance.
Your'e a sandfly that keeps getting squashed, why don't you quit making a dick outa yourself kid, haven't you embarrased your folks enough already :)

yeah like greece winning the euro is something that happens everyday, face it u dopey prick the majority of world cups, euro's are won by one of the favourites, if that were't the case the oddsmakers would be going out of buiseness, any person with a logical thinking brain can see that but of course i forgot i'm dealing with the poster boy for retards. ha i see your trying to copy my style now, in another thread i compare u to a cockroach now you compare me to a sandfly, god your one lame ass loser, and stop backtracking you f****d up with the jeremies comment, u showed us all that u know shit, keep talking out of your arse u buttwipe.

You two guys can decide which one of you becomes the grown up first and starts acting maturely, but stop the bickering please.

That you believe those useless sauerkrauts are gonna win it is coz of 2 reasons.
1) they are hosts. Yeah so what, sure the ref will give those useless wanks a helping hand....until the semi-final stage. Didn't South Korea and Portugal fail at the last hurdle?
The hosts have to get far, that generates the most money and grabs the widest attention, but in the end, they are on their own. A retard such as yourself probably doesn't see it, and didn't see how the ref denied Holland an on-side goal against Portugal or Spain a valid goal against SK, but it's there in black and white. Host nationas have 12 players on the team. Since Germany has such a crap side this time around, they'll probably need more than that though.
2) Klinsmann is coach. Yes a former great, surely that automatically means WC glory doesn't it? what about the past?, a 10-yr-old blues clues fan doesn't know anything bout that, but former greats such as Platini, Rijkaard, and Keegan who went on to coach their NT's, all came away with no silverware.
I hope this isn't too much reading for an inbred little fuker such as yourself, but Iv'e pretty much got you figured out, and it must hurt more than your dad's cock up your tight ass.
Go be a jizz mopper kid :D
