Arsenal are monitoring the form of Dynamo Kiev midfielder Jerko Leko, according to Ukrainian sources.

The Croatia international has the sort of style that would ideally suit The Premiership and revealed earlier in the year that Tottenham Hotspur had contacted his agent.

However, Arsene Wenger is also an admirer of the 24-year-old's talents after getting a close look at the player during last season's UEFA Champions League.

The Zagreb-born star cost €4 million from Dinamo Zagreb, but his valuation has risen significantly by virtue of his classy performances on the European stage.

Arsenal sent a scout to Croatia's recent World Cup qualifier against Sweden and it is understood that the Premiership champions will continue to keep tabs on one of Wenger's targets.

Dynamo are in no mood to sell Leko, and the midfield man insisted he was happy to remain in Kiev at least until next summer when Spurs came calling, but Arsenal would provide an attractive option if a bid was tabled in 2005.

This is the first I'm hearing about a possible transfer, but he's a big performer who I think would blend well into the team.

Do you think he will get much playing time?

If he did transfer to Arsenal, I think he would from time to time. Of course, it would be hard for him to replace the likes of Ljungberg, Pires, etc., but he would get some chances with Mr. Wenger, I'm sure.

Aslong as he his given the chance to prove himself, Bosko Balaban flopped at Villa because he didnt get the chance to prove himself.

Yes, every player needs at least one chance at a new club. Balaban never started for Villa, if I remember rightly!

That is correct, the coach thought he was too lazy in training. I know he was lazy in training but the point is he never got a chance to prove himself, and because of that his career is ruined.

Yeah. Who does he play for these days? Club Brugge I heard, but that was a little while ago.
(BTW, this is my 1500th post! :D)...

That's good, if he's kind of recovered from that horror move to Villa. If it's not too late in his career, maybe there's bigger things for him yet...

The problem with Bosko is that too much money makes him lazy....hes even said hed rather play for a lowly team for high wages than a glorious team with mediocre wages.

Hmmm, that's not a very clever thing of him to say.
Oh well, maybe this means Reading have a chance of signing him. :silly:

As it happens, yeah! :)
Could have gone more points clear at the top last night, but they drew 1-1.
