here's croatia's qualifying group for 2006world cup-sweden,bulgaria,iceland,hungary,malta. to me sweden looks the biggest threat, with bulgaria also in cotention,and i wouldn't write off hungary, since matthaeus took over as coach they've been getting pretty good results. If i had to pick i'd say sweden 1st,croatia 2nd.

if someone asked me if croatia would qualify i'd probably say yes their a good enough team to make it, but if u finish 2nd it really depends on who u get in the playoffs, for eg. if an italy or france crapped it in their groups and only got 2nd place u could end up playing them, on the other hand u could face a latvia or poland, you'd just have to wait and see who you'd draw in the playoff match.

probably, because most of the 2nd placed teams should still be decent opposition, i actually think croatia is a hard team to judge sometimes, their form can be up and down at times, i remember in 2002 world cup they beat italy but lose to equador and mexico, also euro 2004 they looked great against france but not so good against switzerland and england, i really wanted croatia to beat england. The current team dos'nt have the quality of the 98 team but on their day they could still be a match for most top teams.

I think for us to beat bulgaria and sweden once is gonna be a miracle yet alone twice. i think were in a good group we need good opponents that can keep up, even though lately everyone has been tough even israel. we have a good team but were young if we can qualify i'm sure we can get anough friendly matches before 2006 to get some more experience. i would have prefered Netherlands or France in a group because the only way you get better is to play really good teams. I think we should finish first in our group but i guess well see on saturday where we stand when we play Hungary! i'm thinking croatia 2-Hungary 0.

Yeah Croatia's form is patchy,we need to watch out against the swedish attack we will need a supertight defence to stop Ibrahimovic/Larsson and Ljungberg is dangerous in the midfield. We should be able to win as we have a very good attack. I am not going to worry about the others in the group, if we lose to any of them we can kiss our chances of wc2006 goodbye.

It depends on the midfield. If Croatias midfield improves then this team can beat any team in the world. If Kranjcar and babic can pull the mid together this team will be great!
