Otto Rehhagel gets my vote.

Though people may think he is a defensive style coach, back when he used to manage werder bremen and other such teams in germany back in the 80's, his squads were considered one of the most attacking. Then 2004, he took a struggling greek squad which were getting results like 2-0 loss to albania, 5-0 loss to finland. To which he built into a very highly organized and good team to win it all in 2004. Whata career.

Absolutely right , Otto is the kind of manager that plays at the same style all of his team's games : strong defense ( almost all time 10 man behind midfield ), counter attacks and high crossings to the area looking for the head of a giant striker !!!!
The typical mentality of small teams !!!!

u could'nt be more wrong if u tried, otto's style has varied from team to team, as gennodios mentioned when coaching werder bremen they were fully comitted to attacking football. Rehagel has a knack of finding a teams true strength and creates his gameplan to suit this strength, he has won playing attacking football and he's won playing defensive football. btw he has coached a big team before, he coached bayern munich in 1996 when they won the uefa cup.

the guy who coaches albania that your talking about is hans peter briegel, this guy was one of my favourites growing up, he was in west germany's world cup teams in the 1982 and 1986 finals, he was built like a linebacker, but he could play, he makes carsten jancker look small.

A season famous cannot comfirm that guy is capable(maybe he is lucky)! Only yrs of success and achievement can truely show his real capabilities.
Manager like Capello and Wenger deserved my respect! Capello-proven in many clubs. While wenger -always given limited funds but show great result over the yrs. They r not one-time fame affair but constant yrs of showing great achievement!

The way Wenger has made so much from so little is amazing. He also has a great eye for underrated players with high potential - for example, Vieira cost Arsenal just £4m and Thierry Henry just £10.5m. He's the best manager IMO.

Carlo Ancelotti is the Milan coach guys.
And Capello is the best, everywhere he goes he wins. Mourinho did well last year but he is a new coach, cant say if he is good or not.

God, that poll has to have some of the worst spelling ive seen...

Jose is very good, and i think in the future it will be Deschamps.

I think mourinho can become an incredible coach in the years to come because of his attitude towards the game and towards the players. Mourinho is very arrogant, yet he really takes pride in his work, and he desperately wants to win and be the best. This kind of attitude reflects on the team, and the whole team acquires a winners type of mentality.

I think Capelo is the best. He has proved to be able to win with every team he manages. He has managed and won with REAL, ROMA, and now he is winning with JUVE. Did i miss any?
I don't think Rehagel is anywhere close to that level and Venger, Sir Ferg who are also very good.
What is he doing now after wining E cup. Lost in Albania, drew with Turkey and Georgia I think.

I stroongly agree it's Wenger... He's done a fantastic job bringing the best out of players like Henry and co. The teams not made of stars but championship material... :smoking:

Doesn't anyone remember AC Milan with Rude, Van Basten, and the rest. Fabio Capillo! Roma was much better with him. We suffer from viewing what is going on now, instead of what has history.

Trap is also excellent. hes won 8 serie A titles as a manager and was the last to lead inter to a serie A title. hes now with benfica and has them 1st place 6 points clear of Sporting lisboa and 7 clear of Porto. hes a winner everywhere he goes except the italian NT

If under 'best' you understand the coach who has won the biggest amount of cups and troprhies, then Ferguson and Capello are maybe the best. But imo Mourinho is quickly becomming the perfect coach. Perfect tactics, great ability to deal with so many stars /something hard if look at real madrid/ and he has absolutely no conscience and seeks only the 3 points, no matter how and with what methods.

no, trapatonni wasnt a winner everywhere, he messed up the short time he was at Bayern... it was only after Hitzfeld came that Bayern were back to winning ways. Trap never got along with Lothar Mathaus or Helmer. Trapatoni is a good coach,, but not in the top class of coaches.

Id hav to say in recent times José Mourinho he won the champions league last year with Porto this year he has taken chelsea to their first premiership in 50 or so years and hes eyeing down the barrell of another Champions league conquest.. Closely behind him id say Wenger and i think Fergie has dropped of a bit and is losing it a bit.
