How do you feel about the group croatia was put in with Hungary,Sweden, Iceland, Malta, and Bulgaria.the first games start september 4th, they are facing hungary. I am a little worried because croatia is not as good as they were back in 1998 when they reached 3 place(everyone knows they should have beaten france) and they were horrible in 2002 in korea and japan. What chance do they have of qualifying and if they do qualify which is most likely to happen what chance do they have in the 2006 world cup in germany?

well in my opinion.. i think they will finish either 2nd or 1st.. they have the quality players and now a quality coach.. sweden will be hard to overcome but we bet them a couple of yrs ago in sweden... bulgaria topped our group fro euro qualification.. but i believe that was all luck.. hungary, and malta will be fairly easy.. iceland will be tough though.. they produce surprises.. as for the team, i think they can match 98 and do better.. they need more team spirit.. the team of 98 were more "together".. they played for croatia.. i think that when the war broke out, they played for thier country and never gave up.. todays croatian team needs the team spirit of 98.. you can have a team full of stars but to win a world cup you need a star team..

Well put, with all the youngsters coming through we should be able to give wc2006 a firm crack providing we play offensively...we have some very good strikers and the midfield is only going to get better with kranjcar/babic/leko/srna all getting older and more experienced....

No, this is croatia's year, they're not getting pushed around anymore.

They will kickass and get 1st place
