It was a sad game to watch, Lavolpe used almost, if not the same, game scheme that he used against Argentina. True enough that both Argentina and Brazil are great and respectable teams, but they play and breath football in a very different way, and like such you cant approach both with a similar layout. You cant defend Brazil, their individual talent is far to unbalancing and cannot be fenced off for 90+ minutes, Brasil has to be directly attacked. It is obvious that Brazil's coach did his homework and studied the Mexican team while Lavolpe didnt do so as much and relied too much in luck and a goal coming from a free kick. Brazil's players showed an increased level of prefessionalism compared to the earlier stage of the cup, while the quality of the Mexican players went down and kept going down throughout the game, they were physically and mentality out of shape to approach this game in any succesful way. This was an embarrassing game to watch.

I was surprised, the mexican fans had actually started to convince me of their great game, looking back at the mexican games, all but the game against Ecuador were very, very lucky games, almost an antithesis of the chilean team in luck. Against Argentina and Uruguay, more with Argentina though, they defended and defended untill, like with the move of a magic wand or something, miraculous (and great) goals from midfield and free-kicks came...That luck in attack and good defending was bound to fail sooner or later and a 4-0 defeat against Brazil proved that.

That Mexican fan who wrote that Lavolpe was wrong in defending like he did was right. The best way to defend against Brazil is attacking and most of all, controling the midfield. If you leave an extreme defense on the back that is an invitation for Brazil, that is their favourite dish, they can control the game, move around the ball, try fast passing here and there until eventualy the brazilians will unlock the defense or some great individuality will find his way in. The best way to play Brazil is marking on the midfield, like Chile did in its ONLY decent game of this cup, you brake their passing, you brake their rithim, you brake their "juego bonito" and they are dead. Just like Zinedine controlled the midfield on the final of France 98.

I hope Brazil wins since they are the only remaining team of our group. An Argentina-Brazil final...Yeah...

1st. I ´ve been in many countries too and the only ones that hate us are the Latinos and the Spanish.

When i was in Spain I told everybody I came across that i was an American.
