Manchester United have so far failed to find a buyer for Nicky Butt, so it has been announced that he will possibly move on loan:

Manchester United could listen to loan offers for Nicky Butt after failing to find a buyer for the England player.
Birmingham, Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Aston Villa have all been linked with the 29-year-old midfielder. United have not received any firm offer for the player who is no longer guaranteed first-team football at Old Trafford and may now loan him out. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson told Butt last December that he was free to leave after falling out of favour.
Butt came through the youth ranks with the likes of David Beckham, Gary and Phil Neville and Paul Scholes in United's famed class of '92 and has won 35 England caps.
He appeared to be on the brink of a move to Birmingham in January, only to change his mind after talking to Ferguson and England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson.
He came on as a substitute in United's FA Cup final win over Millwall and May. Butt said at the time: "I made the decision to stay in January and I stand by that. But the manager might have different thoughts in the summer. I don't know where I stand at the minute. If you leave Manchester United you are taking a step down. I am trying not to think about it just now but I will look at it again after the summer is over."

I think this would be a suitable arrangement - he is good enough for most teams in the Premiership and so should get more chances at another club temporairily.

Tottenham will be the best destination! Not foe of Man Utd and will not post a threat to Man Utd! If go overseas,Inter will be the best place, remember 'Paul Ince'.He is impressive in during his times in Inter and Moratti has expressed interest for English midfield(Agressive and hard-working)

Yes, I could see how hiring him would be beneficial to Tottenham. A little bolstering of their defence wouldn't go amiss at all.

You're dead right about Spurs needing him but I think he may wish to stay up north so Middlesborough or even Everton more likely destinations.

Out of those two I'd definitely choose Boro - they have recently made the fantastic signings of Reizeger and Hasselbaink and I'd say they were the better club even before that also, AND they finished higher than Everton. As for the Toffees, they narrowly escaped relegation, they're expected to have another scrap like it this season, and Rooney could be leaving.

Heard Rooney's future will be decided within next 2 weeks - Everton are maybe now prepared to deal but seem to want Butt and Forlan in part exchange
