Out-of-contract Arsenal defender Martin Keown has told Portsmouth he is ready to open talks about a move to Fratton Park.
Pompey boss Harry Redknapp is keen to sign the 38 year-old defender, though will have to convince chairman Milan Mandaric over the deal.

Mandaric has concerns about committing funds to signing Keown given the defender's age.

I can understand that, he's certainly been round the block a few times. But I doubt he'd cost that much, maybe even nothing, and then, if that was the case, it would be a very good deal. He can add so much determination and experience to a team.
