Never been to Old Trafford, never been to England. In fact, the only country I have visited is Mexico. My wife and I are planning on visiting England someday. I told her it had to be during football season, and I was going to go to as many matches as I could catch. Of course that will include a trip to Old Trafford, and hopefully a game. As long as I get to see ManU live once in my life, I will be satisfied.
I know what you guys are saying, and you are probably right, there probably are A LOT of fans who have jumped on the bandwagon lately. You get that in a lot of sports. Look at the Chicago Bulls. I personally don't care much for fans of that calibre...stick with your team, good or bad. I know I have followed a lot of sports teams that really suck. My best example is the Kansas City Royals (baseball). They won the series once, and basically have sucked for most to the rest of their existence. Good thing I am not much of a baseball fan anymore :).
Let me give you an alternate perspective on fandom. Do you have to live in/attend live matches of the team you follow? I have been a fan of the Miami Dolphins (USA Football) my whole life. I have never lived in Florida, I have never been to Joe Robbie Stadium, and I have never attended a live game. Does that make me any less of a fan? Of course not.
Juve, I think the point you have been really been getting at is the "bandwagon fans", followed by maturity levels. Right? I have also noticed, for whatever reason, emotions seem to run a lot hotter among soccer fans, than ANY other sport in the world.

How am I supposed to have a nice discussion if most of the people dont know how to handle it ?? Yes, two things I really hate are glory hunters and people who just waste my time. They have nothing to say and its clear, they know nothing about Man United other than "yeah yeah 2-1 VS Bayern München". I will appreciate any Man United fan who can talk about his team and knows enough history. Anyways who cares about them :). By the way I bet that none of those guys really supports Man United and will stick with them like you did, they are nothing but losers.
