i feel like this may be a stupid question... but why is Inter Milan called the nerazzurri?
and what is that sign that they hold up that says: romagna nerazzurra?
Im very interested in the club, but its hard to find good information in America, and much of the internet's resources are in italian. Any responses would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Neroazzurri means Black&blue the colours of INTER!

Neroazzurri means Black&blue the colours of INTER!
To further refine cv32 post
nera - means black
azzurri - meanse blue (just the italian NT)
other team colours like Juve (bianconeri) and Milan (rossoneri) correspond to the same proverbial way of describing teams.

do you think perhaps 'romagna' refers to the region in italy (emilia-romagna)?
Ive only seen this sign once, on camera before the Bologna game last week...
thanks a lot for the clarification about the team names.
are there any other teams (besides the national team, juve and milan) that are frequently referred to by their colors...? is it all italian teams?

also... parma is referred to as gialloblu...
which means yellow and blue, right?
why do they use blu but we use azzurri?
are those different shades of blue?
PS - what nicknames (like nerazzurri) do you guys know for other italian clubs?

Lets see, Roma are Giallorossi - yellow and red, Lazio are biancocelesti - white and sky blue.
As for Chievo, they're famously called the Flying Donkeys! :D

Being an American is no excuse ;) ! No really, I agree with you, it can be difficult to get your fill of Inter or really any other European team. Soccer/football takes such a back seat in this country of ours. And MLS, even with Freddy-mania, just doesn't cut it (hopefully someday it will, in the meantime soccer/football will continue to lose all of our best athletes to american football and basketball). If you're dying to watch Inter, as I have been, the thing to do is get Dish Network and subcribe to the package that gets you Gol TV. They broadcast an Inter game on most weeks, as well as other top Serie A and La Liga matchups. You'll also get Fox Sports World, but it doesn't have any Italian or Spanish soccer. There are probably other ways to satisfy your Inter cravings, but it can get expensive I think. The websites I read are soccerage.com, planetfootball.com, obviously inter.it, and then occassionally tribalfootball.com might have something interesting. I also try to read or translate gazzetta.it and sometimes calciomercato.com. Anyone have any other useful websites that I'm missing out on?
