View Full Version : we should have won against Villa...
not that both sides showed some awesome football... but we had our great chances at the end. We could've been back up to 4th instead of sitting in 10th, on the table.
This was our a great chance to get ahead of Man UTD, L'poo.. damnit. http://www.worldsoccerboard.com/ubb/mad.gif

I thought Tore was going to score but he rushed it. Stanic again twisted his knee just when he got going. I had the feeling that we didn,t have anyone in the midfield to run with the ball. Poyet and Robbie didn't structure properly. I sensed Jimmy wasn't fully fit. It was nice to Gudjohnson get on he does look promising. I'd put Melchiot in field or maybe Ratti it would be nice to give him a start and leave Panucci who played excellent at right back. THe Rock looked very solid. My MOTM.
yeah.. no doubt Desailly was superb..
Ed De Goey wasn't playing, I think that had some impact on the result as well. Caducini just did his second appearance for chelsea today...
about the midfield..agreed... poor performance.

I have to say, I thought we were appaling today. No disrespect to Villa but we should have slaughtered them, especially after what happened on Wednesday. I don't understand why Flo is rated so highly, Yorke or Cole would never miss that chance at the end. There just doesn't seem to be any tactical system in the team, I really don't think Luca's got a clue on that front. The team just isn't as good as we think it is. Baba should be left out, Poyet's been useless this season, Di Matt's done better but he's just not good enough. I really would prefer to see us go to 3 at the back, remove the need to play 2 central midfielders (Stanic and Poyet) on the wings, push them into the middle and maybe we'll get some possesion.
Poyet played on left... that is way off his position.. he plays the best in a central position.. what is he doing at left ? I wonder how Luca would explain that.
I am starting to think that a Flo for McManaman would be a good exchange, after all, Flo hasn't shown much so far, and I admier Steve a lot. His wages are too high though, I heard something around 64,000 pounds per week and now that Real Madrid have agreed a deal with Boro.. for 8mil.. which Flo is worth more.. I wonder how boro would afford those wages, so we could get a second shot on him.
We also need someone good who can do a great job in the LEFT Midfield, Poyet ain't that man, that is for sure.

i thought that Poyet usually played on the wing with Wise and De Matteo in the middle. Plus just because there was a fee that was agreed to does not mean that the deal is going to go threw. I doubt Macca would want to go from Real Madrid to Middlesbrough.
he can play in left, but that ain't his best position... although Poyet adopts well as far as I know.
I'd love to see Steve go to Chelsea though, he is like a dream player to me http://www.worldsoccerboard.com/ubb/smile.gif
