No one can take Dans' place , he is unique ! Probably the only genuine wing-back in the world today . I'm truly gutted that Luca sold him , however times move on ; we didn't win the Championship with him so maybe we can win it without him . I expect Stanic to take the rightside midfield position , but don't rule out Melchiot , I think this guy is a real find ; it looks to me as though he can play , rightside defence , sweeper , rightside midfield or midfield playmaker ; I reckon that by the end of this season everyone will know his name ( as we all do now with Thierry Henri ) . Plaese read my message posted a couple of weeks ago " at long last a greedy striker " might have semed a bit hopeful at the time of posting , but I'm sure you will agree not now !!! ??

Mario Stanic could not possiblly take Dan's position because he plays in a totally different position. Panucci is the one replacing Dan at the moment.
