I'm not a gooner fan, but this has shocked even me...its a report from skysports!!
Arsene Wenger has amazed Arsenal fans by insisting that his long-term ambition is to bring Nicolas Anelka back to Highbury to partner Thierry Henry - despite the blood of the past.
Said Wenger: "Henry-Anelka is the best partnership in the world today, the best combination of strikers anywhere. Personally, I have always dreamed of playing Henry and Anelka at Highbury. I have thought that since seeing the two of them play together at Under-16 level.
"They can play together for Arsenal, it is my dream, even now. They are such a potent partnership. They symbolise all that is so good about the young players coming through in France today. They show just how strong the latest crop of players can be and I think they have every chance of dominating the tournament," he added.
Anelka left Highbury last summer for Real Madrid in a £22 million deal, but the petulance of the young striker, and the acrimonious nature of his departure still sits uneasily in the memories of many of the Arsenal faithful.
Anelka and Henry have just two games for France under their belt playing as a strike partnership, but are set to continue spearheading natinal coach Roger Lemerr's attack against the Czech Republic on Friday evening.
