Im a goalie, and one of my biggest problems is breakaways. I am hesitant of coming out of the penalty box, and when i do come out, i cant stop my opponent. They always seem to shoot before i have any chance of committing myself to the grass. Any tips?

I've been playing goalie for awhile like since i was 5. I've found the best way to go out on the breakaway is to just go with your gut. This works most of the time for me but if they do manage to score its not your fault it is a team sport your defense needs to step up. Being a goalie you don't have a lot of time to think so you just need to go with whats matural for you

Make sure you don't come out too fast, otherwise you'll vbe very predictable. Also if the player is very good, try and cut of at least one side of the goal, forcing him to go the other way or possibly forcing him to mess up. Most important thing ts to cut off the angles, but I know that's hard on a brealaway. Just practice MLS shootouts?
