When I was a kid starting to follow soccer around the world, it was the german uniforms that attracted me to the German National team. The simple black and white colors. I still think the the uniforms are some of the best as national teams go. Does anyone know a good site to purchase national team merchandise on? I have tried the site DFB Fancorner but it just doesn't do well in English.

I always found the German national team kit pretty boring, like one of the most boring ones! I think the Italian and Brazilian strips are more attractive but if your wanting to buy a shirt then I agree on Subside Sports because that site is class! I've bought plenty of shirts from there before, only thing is they can take a while to come! :rolleyes:

i think germany's colours right now are great on there jerseys

it was even better back in the Early 90's with Beichoff and Loteus Mataus (sp?)
which the gold, black and red coming over the shoulders.......that was tight

Yes they did, if your a dutch supporter I'm sure you remember euro88 well, I personally have tried to forget it, world cup 1990 are happier memories for me.

I think the blue in Italy's jerseys has something to do with the Azzuri...all Italian national sports teams wear blue...never red, white ,green.

Italy's jersey is blue because it was the color of the house of cambodia, which was the country's ruler when the national team was created.
It's also better that way, because then their uniform wouldn't be too different to Mexico's.

The Brazilian shirt is soooooo boring and sooooooo ugly; came on yellow sucks!!!

Italia´s azurra rules; like the Away kit of Argentina. The France Home shirt is also cool.

The German NT jersey of Italia 90 looks wonderfull. Also their euro 96 jersey looks plain and elegant.

The reason is I believe that because Ireland were the first country to offer to play West Germany after WW2 the Germans changed the away kit to green in honour of that occasion. :)

Since we are into uniform colors discussion, can anybody tell me the color of shorts the English wear? It's not to say I'm color-blind, just a wee bit confused. Web search turned up with black shorts and red stripes, but I think I've seen them wearing dark-blue shorts, or was I schnozzled so badly back then I can't make black from dark-blue?

Germany have a green second strip, because after the second world war Germany where sent a Republic of Irland strip by the Irish FA to get them up and going again, they where so thankfull for this gesture that thet made green there second choice.

The German national team colors of black & white come from the Prussian flag.

Now here is my question: Does anyone know what colors Germany will wear on Wednesday's game against Spain?
