Today the squad for the EC got announced. No Rakocevic, Kecman, Tarlac and Milojevic (last 2 because of injury) on the spisak and I honestly don't get why Djuro Ostojic is on the list.
4 Dušan Vukčević
5 Dejan Koturović
6 Nebojša Bogavac
7 Vule Avdalović
8 Predrag Stojaković
9 Đuro Ostojić
10 Marko Jarić
11 Predrag Drobnjak
12 Ognjen Aškrabić
13 Miloš Vujanić
14 Kosta Perović
15 Milan Gurović
Vukcevic, Stojakovic, Gurovic and Koturovic all made a good impression on me during the preparations and should be starters IMO. I'm glad a young guy like Kosta Perovic made the team and hope he does well.
here's our schedule for the first round
05. 09. 18:00 SCG - Rusija
06. 09. 21:00 Švedska - SCG
07. 09. 15:45 SCG - Španija
2 tough games against Russia and Spain, remember Spain beat us in the groupstage of last years world cup, payback was a b!tch indeed. :)
What do you guys/girl think? can we win another gold, even without Ivkovic, Obradovic and Pesic at the head of our coaching staff?

Can somebody please explain what reasons Bodiroga has not to play?! Everyone keeps saying how it's understandable that he won't play [is it?!?] but nobody mentioned his motives.
Anyway, I only saw one preparation match against Greece which we lost -20 .... whoops ;) Stojakovic played a very good match though.
Somehow I don't think we can win a gold with this team, but then again I am not very much into the sport so I hope they will prove me wrong.

I think Bodiroga has an injury and he wants to use the off-season to heal it.
Anything less then a gold medal will be dissapointing.

I am also a bit less optimistic this time, but still, I think we are favourites. Let's hope the coach knows what he is doing....
Did you see that Sweden beat France? I' played against some of the Swedes best players in the U20 league and look how good they have become. But if we don't beat them by more than 20 points, I am going to be embarrased. Well it's gonna be a fun game to watch.

I can't believe how bad we played, but then again the Russians hit everything. Luckily this was the first game, and I hope Stojakovic doesn't shoot 3/14 2-pointers and 2/7 3-pointers again.
We are seriously missing a real leader in the team.
We were better on the rebounds, but all the inside fouling and the bad shooting was too much.
The Russians did have a good game though, playing pretty tight defence and hitting almost everything.
I'm too mad right now, but these are my feelings right now aftrer the game.
Tomorrow we play the swedes, I hope the players learnt a lesson and will be so mad they will embarass the Swedes real badly

Not worried at all, after last year in the groupstage we lost to both Spain and Puerto Rico and after that the engine started roaring taking us all the way to the world title.
The gold will be ours! :smoking:

WOO F*CKING HOOO!!!!
and we're still in it, the critics, the haters can all keep quiet for now cause our quest for another gold medal is still on.
Pedja was injured a great deal of the game so all the comments on how we soly depend on his play are BS. Excellent Jaric, Gurovic did his usual 3 point show and basically the entire team worked for this win, even Djuro Ostojic. :D
Lithuania awaites, I se this as a huge confidence boost for our boys and I expect them to destroy every opponent from now on.
NABIO SI TROJKE MILANEEE MILANEEEEEE!

Djuro majstore! :smoking:
They played better this time, and they are starting to show what they are capable of. Two more days for preparations and the Lithuanians are in BIG trouble.
I don't think there is a more nervewrecking sport than basketball....
