With the Croatian NT, a lot depends on the form of their best players. In the past 6 months the NT has been playing very well as a team. I believe the addition of Srna, Prso,Tomislav Maric with an in form Rapaic had a lot to do with it. Defensivly Croatia has been solid for a number of years now and there is good depth in that area. The biggest weakness to Croatia is that the four main offensive players that I mentioned above fall out of form or get injured. Croatia would have a much tougher time scoring goals if that were to happen. I would like to see a good distributor of the ball playing in the middle. Rosso seems OK and Leko just may the guy if we give him some playing time but I'm still hoping for another Boban or Prosinecki to fill that spot.

Yes, i believe the national team is again doing well. Olic is an amazing player and he and Prso make a good forward team. Back that up with an outstanding Midfield and Defence. They also have a steady supply of great players from the Under-21 side and it is only a matter of time before Kranjcar is promoted.

Even though Stanic is still playing (at Chelsea) hes stopped playing nationals because he believes there is enough talent there without him. Yeah if Boksic was there they wouldve done even better btw i saw him last week in Split :)

yeh you made a good point.. england has the potential to win tournaments but i believe they lack team spirit..when looking at croatia's NT there are maybe a few world class players, most of our players are playing at big clubs and only get thier fair share of appearances.. such as stanic.. he never gets a game.. simic is 2nd choice right back in milan.. and the list goes on.. but the point is that even though some of the cro players aren't first team regulars, they can all come together and play for their country.. they showed this at france 98 with the likes of asanovic who wasnt playing regularly at napoli.. he performed brilliantly at france 98.. if croatia can come in euro 2004 with great team spirit and many players with a good run of form i think they are capable of being the dark horse of the tournament.. croatia have nothing to lose.. i believe they will be the surprise team of the tournament if all of our quality players remain injury free..

my line up for the cro team would be:
GK-Pletikosa
DR-Simic
DC-kovac R
DC-simunic
DL-zivkovic
MC-leko j
MC-tudor
MR-srna
ML-babic
FC-klasnic
FC-prso
a mix of youth and experience will prove good for croatia!

Hey im new to this forum, but i know everything there is to know about the Croatian National Team. Firstly i wanna say i have full confidence that the Croatia NT can defeat Switzerland & England, however a full strength team is needed. I've stopped living in the past of 98' and i wanna see some more results to let the world know that we're back. We have our injury concerns for the match against FYR Macedonia, but we should still beat them, it would be embarassing if we didnt. But that leaves the question Bjelica??? Why is Otto still Juggling the team? Ok the excuse as always is injuries, BUT we have to have a solid playing team in another 46 DAYS! bringing in new 32 year olds is risky. i say give Babic, Leko, Srna, a go, after all is Macedonia... and give them assistance buy throwing in 2 of these players N.Kovac, Rosso or Rapajic(experience). Up front due to injuries (Prso) use Olic & Sokota, we have plenty to choose for defense, as long as BUTINA doesnt play, we have a solid GK Pletikosa, or even give Didiluca a chance, but not BUTINA.....NiKo

Olic and Klasnic are good 2nd half options up front. Babic will replace the tired Rapaic, Mornar can play Srna's position fairly well, and Tomas and Simunic are solid defenders.

i think that we have great players like stipe,olic,klasnic,niko and others...
now we just need a great coach!
players need someone who will know how to motivate them and reminde them to play with heart!
ti was sad to watch them play in euro 2004, it was like they didnt minde if they will win or loose.it was like they convinced themselfs that thers no way they can win against england and france.
i hope that new coach will change that and that they will show better game in germany2006.
