What are your and other AEK fans thoughts on Bajevic and the way he's handled AEK so far? and who do you consider favourites for the title this year, obviously the big 3 rae in it, but which team made the best impression during the preparations?

You are right man

Olympiakos did take a tough away win. But PAOK is a bit weakenned due to player departures (fanilly enough the two Olympiakos scorers, Georgiadis and Kafes, among the ones gone! ) and PAOK played in their ground but with closed doors due to a punishment from last years Cup Final. Good win for Olympiakos anyway.

AEK made the most eye catching moves.

Both Panathinaikos and Olympiakos brought in many (9 - 10! ) players each! Olympiakos is supposed to have bought the better ones but this remains to be proven.

AEK and Olympiakos are tipped to be the most serious contenders this year and we have to wait and see how Panathinaikos will do as they sent away two key players, Karagounis to Inter and Lymberopoulos (last years League Top Scorer! ) to AEK!

Iraklis are expected to be quite strong despite some serious defensive weaknesses, and Panionios also made many transfers and are watched closelly. The othe two big teams of Thessaloniki, Aris and PAOK are both suffering from vary bad financial problems and lost many players.

Now, to be fair... AEK has equally as many financial problems and if this Wednessday night does not see us overturn the bad 1-0 result against us in the first champions League Groups qualification leg against Grasshoppers, then the whole AEK story could have a tottally different ending.

Yeah most of it anyway, thanks for that my friend.

The PAOK loss must be pretty painful for them, after winning the cup just 2 years ago they're again going downhill.

I'll try to follow the Greek more closely this season and I'm hoping for an interesting battle. I'm anti PAO as most Red Star fans are so I hope the race will indeed be between Olympiakos and AEK.

Anyhow I prefer Greeks over Swiss anyday, so good luck in that CL qualifier come wednesday!

Swiss football is anything but easy to pass right now with quality teams like Basel and Grashoppers so AEK's result in retrospective is not at all bad.

Actually we lost that golden 6th place to Poertugal last year so its back to 2 CL places for 2004-2005, but in this CL with Benfica Failing to qualify and 3 Greek teams in it, provided we gain points we can hope to recapture it..

Dimitris Papadopoulos scored a late goal to clinck the game for PAO in Salonika against the very good Iraklis and keep the Green Team at the top spot of the League. While Neri Kastillo, the 18yr. old Uruguayan sealed a very convincing Olympiakos win (4-1) against OFI Crete with a hat-trick!

The Chalkidona players celebrate the 1-2 Surprise (?) result which sunk AEK to 6th place and deepened the sense of uncairtainty in the trouble striken team... (and I am pissed of! :angryfire )

PAOK - Scoda Xanthi would be the Surprise of the day if AEK did not commit suicide on Sunday... But Xanthi were not expected to do that badly in the start of the championship and the result was somehow expected sooner or later.

In the result of the day, PAOK, who have countless problems of playing and financial nature this year, managed to win away to OFI with the convincing 0-3 result! However, the way this happened was both amazing and sad! Three! Yes 3! PAK players were severelly injured in the first 5 minutes of the game! Especially Dimitris Markos will miss the rest of the championship while Spacic and Egomitis look at more than 3-4 week off each!

Well done to PAOK for the result but really bad luck for the rest of the upcoming games!

I might miss next weeks update due to a business journey... Its not like you guys will be missing the outcome of the premiership though... right?! ;)

But it got a bit more excitting this week with both front runners losing points and AEK winning the Derby with PAOK. Olympiakos lost 2 points when Ionikos (last in te league! ) equalised (2-2 final score) in the 87th minute and after the Champions have gone 2-0 up in the first 20' of the game!

Former Burnley (Nationwide Div 1, England) Substitute Dimitris Papadopoulos was lucky enough to find all Panathinaikos Front line Injured and won a permanent spot immediatelly after his addition to the Panathinaikos Squad this summer. Despite a bad Panathinaikos European Performance, in Greece Papadopoulos is by far their better player and top scorer. Unfortunatelly, a while after the moment this foto was taken (where he scores the first PAO goal in their 3-0 win over PAOK) he got injured and will have to stay out for a month.

My team AEK "slipped" once more. We lost 1-0 to Paniliakos and now seem tied to 5th spot and dont look strong enough to recover... :(

The unlucky one this week was Yourkas Seitaridis! A bad tackle by a Proodeftiki defender broke two of his toes leaving him a month off the pitch! There was a worse incident in the Kalithea - Aigaleo match with one player ending up in the hospital but I refer to Seitaridis because at the Moment Many French, English, anf Greman clubs are lining on his dorstep to sign him and an injury was the worst that could happen for the Panathinaikos defender! Pitty!
