what's wrong???!!! HUH, I'll tell you whats wrong, EVERYTHING!

We need a better coach, savicevic was great player but a coach he is not. What we need is someone who can put the team together. This game hopefully will wake the federation into doing something about it!

Imagine having world class players and top scorers in some of the best Football leagues and yet a coach who for what ever reason does not call up the best players. We should lose with third stringers and with retirees like Mihajlovic, Mijatovic, especially Mihajlovic that always manages to get red carded, he should ask himself then why even play, why embarrass the national team with your lack of professionalism.

Imagine a coach who can’t see his way clear to call up one of the best young strikers in Europe Mateja Kezman or a even a great veteran like Dejan “Rambo” Petkovic a great middleman and a free-kick taker. It is obvious to me that SICG have top-notch strikers, Mateja Kezman, Darko Kovacevic, Savo Milosevic, Mihajlo Pjanovic, so why can they score when they play for the national team? Because the coach is not intelligent enough to select a middle player that can create chances for these strikers. Which is quite easy, all he has to do as regards to Mateja is watch PSV play and see which player sets up Kezman then find a similar Serb player, I do not think that would be to hard. And I also think that if he can set up Kezman he can as well set up Kovacevic, Milosevic, Pjanovic, etc… So how can any national team win if the coach does not cal up the best players?

I agree with Lopov, the problem is that we have old timers and inexperianced players on the team, they get some of these guys in the league who could not play anywhere else in Europe. Keza wins the trophy yet nobody calls him up. Deja, has the talent to work with, but he does not want to use yet he is always saying, how he wants to experiment with everything, hell, he's being experimenting for the past year or so, and yet were still no-where. Point is, I loved as a player, but as a coach that's a different story. Get rid of him, and lets get a coach that can get us to the finals.

I am not sure what the _uck you are talking about, our boasting is not any different then Croatians boasting… The term Balkan powerhouse or Brazil of Europe was used during the dark ages when Croatia was part of YU… While we are grounded in Football we are doing the best we can in other sports…

P.S. you got your head up you’re a$$.

First of all, even though we don't have croatia, we still were known as the brazil of europe, look at our 98 team in france, I don't think that was a joke. Yeah, were going through some tough times right now, but were not giving up.

deki94,

Our team in France in 1998 was mediocre, in the end, Yugoslavia was the ninth among 32 countries; most of the veterans should have been replaced by then.

The Yugoslav national team at the 16th World Cup in France (June 10 to July 12, 1998) was composed of the following footballers:

Goal keepers: Ivica Kralj, Dragoje Lekovic.
Defence: Zoran Mirkovic, Goran Djorovic, Miroslav Djukic, Sinisa Mihajlovic, Slobodan Komljenovic, Nisa Saveljic, Zeljko Petrovic.

Midplayers: Slavisa Jokanovic, Branko Brnovic, Vladimir Jugovic, Dejan Savicevic, Dragan Stojkovic, Ljubinko Drulovic, Dejan Govedarica, Miroslav Stevic.

Attack: Predrag Mijatovic, Savo Milosevic, Dejan Stankovic, Perica Ognjenovic, Darko Kovacevic.

...Around noon an enormous Ustasa flag, whose red and white checkerboards have long served for Serbs as a hated symbol of Ustasas Nazi puppet rule of 1939-1945, was hoisted above Knin's 10th century citadel, once used as a coronation site for medieval Croatian kings who felt secure that they were protected by Serbian nights...
