Lazio must improve their home form to consolidate their Champions’ League spot, but may face a difficult test against born-again Como.
The Biancocelesti have lost only one match on their travels in all competitions this season, but the Stadio Olimpico seems to cut into their confidence and subsequent results. Coach Roberto Mancini recently tested a new central defensive position for battling midfielder Diego Simeone and it is an option we could see this week.
Como had a disastrous first half of the season, but in recent weeks their form has picked up considerably. It may be too late to save them from the drop, but the 5-1 demolition of Bologna certainly sent out a signal to all future opponents. This team is not dead and buried.
Little remains of the squad that earned two consecutive promotions and only now have the players become accustomed to one another. Nicola Amoruso is making quite an impact, but the real danger man will be Vedin Music.
Lazio man Nikola Lazetic started the season at Como before moving on to Chievo and then towards Rome, so he may feature in this encounter. Both teams like to play down the wings, so we ought to see an intriguing match.

We can't afford any slip ups, we must get all 3 points from this match. We will dominate technically, we mustn't give them any space to move, we must just finish them off quick and early. I hope our defence and midfield link up well and not make the error we did a fortnight ago when we gave Barone too much space to make the shot and also give Cardone so much space.

We have to assume that both Parma & Chievo are going to be fighting for our 4th CL place until the final giornata, so every point from now on is crucial. Not long ago I was dismissing this match as a distraction before the Porto game, but after Como drubbed Bologna last round we cannot be under-estimating the Lombardians.

Yes we must not take this game lightly, this game is in our hands, it only depends whether we want to take our chances. I am the most afraid of the smaller teams because we can't seem to convert our chances and just like what Mihajlovic said in an interview, it has dampened our Scudetto hopes. If this continue and we don't convert our chances, our CL hopes may also be gone.

I'm gonna just freak out if we don't win this! Please don't let this be another Reggina match!!!
We have a better team and as long as the players remember that, we have nothing to worry about. Self-confidence is all it takes, but there's a difference between good self-confidence and arrogance, better keep that in mind.

I rather Mancini play Stam in central defence than right back. Or playing argentina 3-3-1-3 Formation is also great as we can forget about playing right back or left back. We doesn`t have a impressive right back as stam is usually good at center and read the game well.

sslaziomelopez, in case you didn't know, we played a flat back 3 at the closing stages of the 00/01 season and we paid the price for it. Lazio are fated to be using the 4-4-2 formation, we can't play with a flat back 3. Stam in my opinion is a better centre-half, we should give the right back spot to Oddo, I think he has been playing very well as of late, giving those dangerous crosses and attacking as well as defending well.

Did anyone hear that Mancio is considering to convert DP Simeone to a centre-back?

Darran i know , but we have to try again as u see when at tat time stam is not not playing for us . But now it possible to play with 3 center back. To me argentina`s 3-3-1-3 formation is good for us , as we also play the same football as them & tat is attacking style of play.:p

Turning Simeone to central defence is a good idea too , as he is aging soon and can read the game better at the back huh . i think Mancini is going to let him command at the back and organise taking corner time.

Simeone shold be tested as a central defender, even if the defence hasn't been the biggest problem (when the players are fit).
Also it might meen that we should prepare for a transfer of Stam, but this is not what we should think about right now.
Three points is the only thing that counts in this game, a draw is like a loss, well, almost.

Oh I think Couto should also have a try in the attack and Corradi would do wonders in the defence coz he's so tall... And Peruzzi...I've always wondered why he isn't a striker!
Just kidding people...:D
I too think that Simeone would do wonders in the defence, I think he would do wonders everywhere!
