:cool:Hallo to all guys out there.First of all im glad tat Lazio will be in the semi of UEFA Cup, thats what we laziale are waiting for "a major silverware in 3 Season" . Sad to end our unbeaten record over the weekend but the player themselve must get thing under control . Now we are in the most important part of the season , if we jus relax down all the effort we have made earlier on will be in vain and ended with nothing.How u all find about porto? hear tat they are the port league`s leader and lead by 10 point.:confused:

Porto leading Portugal`s league by 8 point. furthermore they have 1 game in hand situation over 2nd spot`s Benfica. and they haven lost a game in their country`s league tis season. If our away record wasnt destroy by Parma , i think was going to be a 100% home vs 100% away.:rolleyes:

This is a great chance for us to improve tremendously, we really need to bounce back from the 2-1 defeat by Parma on Sunday and I must say I am not the least impressed at the way we conceded the goals.

We should be confident to get past Porto to the Final, but I agree the biancoblu should not be underestimated. They have many excellent players like Deco, Helder Postiga, a solid GK in Vitor Baia. So it will be a difficult tie for Lazio to pass but I'm not worried :)

But still the same thing , We are playing away first . So must get an away goal to boost our morale for the 2nd leg at Rome. Bovista should end Celtic europe`s dream in tis round so we might play 2 portugal`s team in order to take the Cup back to Rome .

Porto are a very srong side, and tohave reached the semis proves alot, we can not afford to be fielding the 2nd team and then loose and struggle to qualify on the 2nd leg, this time it wont be so easy, i expect a strong professional lazio!

This match will be the most important in the season for us. We are out of the Scudetto chase and that is definite. We have a very slim chance of winning the Coppa Italia which now makes the UEFA Cup very important as it is the only competition we stand to win. Just as the other members have said, we must take advantage in the first leg to make the qualification a smoother road to take.

It's not impossible to pass the semifinal in la Coppa, all we need is 2-0 which is not out of the question with Roma's erratic defence, even Samuel has looked mortal this season. But Lazio is distracted by the UEFA Cup & positioning for a CL place, i lupi has little else to play for now.

Regarding the first leg v. Porto, I agree that we need to effectively kill them off in Oporto & not have the same pressure as in the past few return legs. Mancio hopefully has realised that he cannot afford to start any bench players this round...

Regarding the Coppa Italia, it isn't easy to beat Rioma because everytime we play against them, the referee helps them. First Farina when he denied us 3 clear cut penalties in the Semi Final first leg and then Messina who denied a good goal which wasn't offside at all. I just hope for an impartial referee for the game like Collina or Paparesta. Then perhaps we stand a chance to beat Rioma 2-0 and qualify for the final. Against Porto, we must be wary of Deco, he is very talented playmaker and could cause trouble for us. We need to close him down and not give him space to shoot, we must take advantage and field our strongest players for this match. My preferred line up would be: Peruzzi, Favalli, Oddo, Stam, Mihajlovic, Fiore, Cesar, Gianichedda, Stankovic, Lopez, Chiesa

Its like we are always playing 11 men against 12 men when we play Rioma. When we have snatched a victory, the referee screws us up and grants the victory to Rioma. That is totally unfair.

Well Paula, I might be complaining too much now but that's because I kept my ass shut when we were screwed and it has a huge effect on our season. We must learn to voice our anger if not all the referees in the world will push us around.

I think the player will be tired as we will be playing 1 game every three or four day . our player are very limited compare to those big club at the moment. So Mancini must rotate the player frequently to avoid injure to the player as the time now will be critical . Mancini should focus in the Uefa cup first as i think will be the most important of all. Not much info on Porto yet , but i will be back with more soon.:smoking:

Well this is a good chance for the players to experience this tiring schedule, we can't always expect a 1 week rest. What will happen next season should we get into the CL? We will lose out totally and that isn't good for the reputation of Lazio.

If we are really going to challenge in the champion league next season , we really need to invest in new player . At the moment , our squad is too small . its impossible for every player to play all the match , and wat if player get injure? U don`t expect us to win Man U (etc) with the youngster , they still lack of skill and i think they are not prepared yet . Lets hope for the best .:)

I think we just need one more season for the players to really get used to playing for Lazio. Although Cesar, Fiore and Stankovic might be playing well, they have not reached their full credentials yet. Cesar is not the consistent player because he has yet to adapt to Serie A football but I am confident after this season he will. The same goes for Fiore, he played well with Udinese but he must learn to adapt playing well for a big club. And Stankovic, he is young and needs to mature, he can really become a big star like Zidane or Veron, he just needs time.
