I voted for John O'Shea, i felt it was between him and Jenas, but i went with O'Shea because i feel he has played very well for United all season and IMO is the best young defender in England.

i had to put Miccy D in ;)
JJ for me :)
O'Shea good player, he's not done enough to convice me he's that good yet, and as young defenders go, Terry, Dawson and (just) Woodgate are ahead of him in the Prem. His versatility is a huge asset though.

Yes Michael Dawson and his 50 odd div.1 games is a better and more proven player than John O'Shea:confused:
O'Shea has been outstanding for United at right-back,left-back,centre-back and even in midfield.I've yet to see him have a poor game.Woodgate has been playing first team football for about 4 years now, he's not what i'd class as a young player anymore. And John Terry is the same and he can barely hold down his place at Chelsea.Desailly and Gallas are first choice when every1 is fit.

From what i've seen Dawson is better.
Well Terry's only 22, for me he's the best english centre back around. you say Terry's not regular but either is O'Shea.

1.You can't compare some1 who is playing Div.1 football to some1 who has played almost every United game this season in EPL and CL, the standards are much higher for O'Shea.
2.O'Shea has played almost everygame this season and Fergie has said it will be "near impossible" to leave him out when everyone is fit.Terry will be back-up next year as well if Desailly stays, but you're right he is Englands best centre-back.I think he should leave Chelsea if he doesn't get regular games, and a new contract for next season.

I voted for John O Shea because he has been reliable all season for Man Utd and is now breaking into the international scene.Players like Rooney and Jen-ass havent played well as consistantly as him.

I've seen Dawson play a lot and he is something special, you haven't seen him play much if at all. In my view, Dawson is a better player than O'Shea and has a brighter future.
I dunno, Desailly may not carry on next season, and very well may not be regular.
Admittedly, i didnt think O'shea had played as many games as he has, and i have been a bit harsh on him, he is a very good player.

I voted for O'Shea purely for the fact that he is playing regularly and well for one of Europes best teams and the others are not. Rooney is a class act and will be the player to really watch out of those guys, he still has four years left to be a young player though so he has one hell of a career ahead of him.
O'Shea has versatility and not only that but he plays really well anywhere in the back four whereas other "versatile" players tend to not play so well outside of their normal position. O'Shea will be the next Rio Ferdinand. He can not only outplay his attacker but he also has brilliant skills and ability to pass. His Cruyff turn against Juventus was all class he is clearly the best out of those.
Jenas is also one to watch for the future
O'Shea by in a canter for the best young player award

I have actually seen quite alot of him, and i admit he's a great prospect but at present O'Shea is a better player, and regarding having a brighter future, i'm not sure, Dawson is gonna find it very hard to break into the England team with Ferdinand, CAMPBELL, Terry and Woodgate all ahead of him, plus he's gonna have to go to a top side(no offence to Forest), while O'Shea is gaurenteed his place at club and country level for the next decade or so.

Jenas has impressed me the most.
Lots of composure, has the engine to bomb up and down, also starting to get some goals, I think he's been more consistent than Dyer in fact.
O'Shea is still rather raw, likes to dribble often and gets past people with his height advantage, but sometimes not very pleasant because he is yet to develop the flair. But the fact he can adopt a variety of positions is certainly a help.

Milner is too young.
I chose Rooney, although his form is bad these days.

I think this was about the EPL.
And to say that its plain stupid.
F.Torres is a good player but so is Cassano.
This was about EPL.

Wayne Rooney young player of the year??
Well, the secret is well and truly out now. The prodigious young talent that Everton have been quietly grooming for stardom is now a household name after his sensational last-minute winner put paid to Arsenal's 30-match unbeaten run and made Wayne Rooney both the youngest Everton goalscorer and youngest player to score in the Premiership — an honour he stole from Michael Owen. However, Wayne is not the youngest to ever play for Everton: that record remains with Joe Royle.
Liverpool born and raised in Croxteth, Rooney was just days away from his 17th birthday when he exploded into the national consciousness with that one phenomenal swing of the boot in October 2002. Three weeks earlier he had notched his first senior goals in the 3-0 League Cup win at Wrexham, confirming the unprecedented buzz surrounding the player believed to be the answer to the club's prayers.
And he followed the stunning Arsenal strike with a real predatory masterpiece against Leeds United that was to slay Everton's 51-year Elland Road hoodoo. But for pure technical genius, physical strength, and mental determination, his third league goal, against Blackburn stands out.
Then hero turned villain, or so we are lead to believe, with his exuberance in the challenge resulting in a red card at Birmingham, followed by a fifth yellow versus Manchester City, and a four-match suspension.
Near the end of that ban, Wayne finally signed a lucrative 3-year contract (the longest permitted of 17-year-olds) in January 2003, after changing agents to join Kenny Dalglish's Proactive Sports Management Agency.
And his return late in the game at Charlton (ironically too late for the watching England Manager, Sven-Goran Eriksson) preceded the announcement of his accession to the England squad. The following Wednesday, 12 February 2003, at the hardly tender age of 17 yrs &111 days, Wayne Rooney became the youngest England player ever when he came on at half-time after the first-choice England side had gifted Australia two goals.
Rooney played well, but tried perhaps a little too hard to grab all the glory, although he did play a pivotal; role in the only England goal — scored by his old mate from Croxteth, Franny Jeffers. He later impressed with a superb performance for England against Turkey
There is only one Wayne Rooney!

Even though the team aren't doing well, I think James Milner has had a fairly good season but I think it's between John O'Shea and Scott Parker. Wayne Rooney for me has been a part time player this season, just hasn't had that consistent streak but I'm sure if he gets back onto form, this title could certainly be his next season. O'Shea has been great for Man Utd since last season and Parker has been the driving force behind Charlton's good season. Even though he has moved to Chelsea and it's only been a few games, he still seems quite comfortable in his role and has given some decent performances. Out of the two, I'd pick Parker.
