Norway has officially charged the french referee, and asked for immediate dismissal of the referee from EURO2000. They also asked that the result from Yug-Spa be changed and Spain be disqualified from EURO2000.
That looks almost impossible to me, although I would like that the Spaniards get thrown out, they fooled everybody, they have no style, they can dive and get us red cards but cannot outplay us.

Yeah...it sounds virtually impossible..
I am glad however, that Norway is speaking out about it.
They probably watched the game, and saw the injustice...

it was all the setup. europe watched teams like germany and England lose while Eastern Euro teams came throught. Spain would just means one more Western European team out of game, so they did that setup in hope Norway will win against Slo.

I'm starting to think that there's something to these claims.
I don't necessarily think the ref was anti-Yugo, but more pro-Spain.
I'm not sure that it's an anti-eastern europe thing either.

But ... Pro , he never gave any free kicks to Yugo, which he missed about 20 of them. No, and do not tell me they were dives, because I watched it over a few times, and the Spanish were holding their shirts and fouling them just as we did, but we did not get any free kicks. Referee screwed this game up, as UEFA said, he was told to stop the game by the line referees, but he did not.

I do agree that he was pro-Spain in the game. All I'm saying is that I don't think he was anti-Yugo. What I mean is that it didn't matter if it was Yugo or another team playing against Spain, he would have favoured the Spanish either way. Diving is part of the game, I wouldn't say that the Yugos dive anymore than anybody else, nobody is innocent of that, no matter how much they like to think they are. So if people call you divers, who cares, somebody's always gonna try to knock someone else down and criticize them, it's the way of the world.
If you think it about it from UEFA's point of view, they'd rather have Spain and Yugo go through, because they're much more entertaining than Norway. Now I can't really say whether or not UEFA is against Yugo, because there's no real concrete proof. There may be times when it looks like that, but without concrete proof I can't make a judgement like that.
But I understand how you feel, beleive me. I'm sure that FIFA doesn't want Croatia in the next world cup. In fact, I'd bet my life on it.
I don't want to send the wrong message here. All I'm saying is that I thought the ref wanted to see Spain win, not to see Yugo lose. Yugo just happened to be the opponent, would have been the same if it was anybody else, except a western european nation.

I am not sure, it all looked like a setup to me, and it was a big disappointment because I know that we will most of the times play against 12 men on the field.
Why do you feel that FIFA does not want to see Croatia in the next WC ?

I'm actually starting to feel that way too, what if the ref didn't want Norway through, maybe to do with the fact that France would be their opponent?
I know that probably shoulds shallow, ali nikad se nezna!

Mihajlovic, if you go to the world cup forum, you'll see what I think of FIFA. Let me know if you agree or disagree.
Fantastic

Lucky referee that you qualify in 1/4 finals too. You should kill him odervise. Where did he saw those foul? I am wondering how much did Spain pay him to judge like that?!
You should be afraid that referees will doit again in next matches. You surly can expect that in game Vs Holland. They are favorites for Champions so they will do anything to win these match.
Honestly i think that your chances are very low.
