People think Chinese football has grown over the years. They now have several players in the Premiership as well as other 'big-leagues'. However, the basic Chinese national team is still garbage. People say that the tie against Brazil was a miracle.. but I do not believe that. Brazil had Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos and all those star players lined up, but they were completely exhausted by the league schedules and they could not show their best talent. The performance China showed at the World Cup was a joke. I mean.. losing to Costa Rica!! That was so rediculous! The Chinese media blame it all on 'Bora' but he led every team before China to the 2nd round!!! I think Chinese players lack the basic skills. They are simply just not talented enough. They haven't beaten Korea once for the last 10 years!!! When Korea and Japan grew from a weak 3rd class team to a world-class competitive team, China stayed the same!! China has 1.3 billion people for chirst's sake!! Why can't they produce good football players?? They are decent in every other sport.. As Korea and Japan jump into the Qualifying rounds for WorldCup 2006, I personally think China would not make it to Germany.. It'll probably be Korea-Japan-SaudiArabia-Iran. Or even THAILAND!!

you have to admit.. honestly.. Thailand is better than China..

You can laugh and joke now, but when the Chinese get through the process of transition of developing good basic skills and infrastructure, with their population and enhancing market, they can compete with the world's best. This is exactly the same as Japan and Korea, who everybody laughed at 10 to 15 years ago.
This is also the case with the USA team, they needed time for investment and attracting kids to play.

The reason they are good at other sports is simply because they concentrate more on them, what's the problem??
They kicked everyones arses in gymnastics because they took it very seriously before football came along.

As for Thailand, forget them beating China.
