What the **** is Karma?

I'm getting pissed here b/c i looked all over the site and still i don't have a clue what it is. What is Karma?

All I know : Karma is something you´re suffering now as the way to pay for a crime you did in your past life.

It doesn't work anymore, hasn't been for ages. But in the past if you saw a good post you could click the karma button and give the poster some good karma. You could see how mutch karma a person has by looking at these little green dots below the user name. If there was red ones the person had really bad karma. It was pretty silly actually :D
