View Full Version : Doz retiring (merged thread)
For various circumstances, some you guys definitely know of, some you don't, i have decided to resign as Inter mod. I'm NOT changing my decision so don't bother pleading with me. I guess this will be my last ever sticky. I enjoyed being mod here and it's a pity that time has come to an end but the board must continue with new moderators. I'm just waiting until Omar gets his board control panel back and then hopefully he'll deal with this situation. I'm not leaving WSB though and i will still continue to post on this board.:)
Obviously the board will need a replacement, maybe even two considering FANTA's inactivity over the past few months. I've already given two definite suggestions to Omar but i'm not going to reveal who they are. I will however, give a short-list of the members that you guys should consider as the prospective new mod(s). Please don't be offended if your name is not on it, these are just my suggestions based on what i've seen of members over the last few months and i'm sure you guys may come up with others.;)

:mad: This pisses me off. IMO, the best mod on the WSB is relinquishing an important post. How this could be let to happen is beyond me. I'm not pissed at you dozzer, but just pissed in general.
You lazy lot should be PMing doz RIGHT NOW and telling him NOT to step down. You should also be PMing Omar telling him to convince doz to stay on. This is ridiculous!:annoyed: :mad:

I'd prefer if people didn't PM me as i'm not reversing my decision. And most certainly do not PM Omar. He has enough things to be doing.

Doz, I'll suport whatever decision you end up making, as much as it is to my disappointment one of WSB most accomplished mods is contemplating retirement.

I agree with Blau, this is a shitty situation, the best mod on the entire board is stepping down, it's a huge loss for the Inter forum.The rest of the mods here are gonna have to pick up the slack.
Dozzer, i'm sure you have your reasons, and whatever they are I support you decision m8.
I vote for Inter_fanatic as his replacement, but with out meaning to offend IF, he's no Doz.

No need to take time-off Doz. I realy dont see a reason why should you resign. You are doing quite good. People arround respect you. You are pretty active, you have been a good mod.

if you don't feel like being a mod now, you're fed up with WSB then... the only advice is taking some time off here as most of us have done and there's no need to resign...
if you don't feel comfortable with mods team we can revote all moderator positions as well. what's good with us is that we're a well balanced bunch of mods here. we equally well compensate each others weaknesses ;)

OK, here it is. I should have had this up sooner, but it's better late than never. I'm very disappointed that no one else started this thread, but not nearly as disappointed as I am in myself for not starting it sooner.
As I'm sure you're all aware, Doz has decided to step down as an Inter moderator. Well, that's just not acceptable. Doz has been an amazing mod (IMO the best in the WSB) and a valuable WSB member for some time now. We can't allow him to go. He has to stay. Call you neighbours, call your friends (assuming some of you even have any ;) ) and get them to post here. PM Doz, PM Omar, PM George Bush, I dont' care. We need Doz here as a moderator.
Here's to the Dozzer. Stay bud, we all want you as an Inter mod!

Like everyone else in the WSB that i've come across (other than yourself for some odd reason), I want Doz to stay on as Inter mod. It's as simple as that. Your true colours however are really coming through nicely of late.

Rethink your decision again. I'm aware it's damned tough sometimes on this forum, but your decision shouldn't be based on the bluff and rude post of some people. Stay for all those of us, who appreciate your work here and who would miss your kind and wise way to calm down also hot discussions. Although I don't post regularly in the Inter forums, I think, we need you here around to keep the level of communication we reached with your help and support.
If you see yourself overfilled with work, we should get an additional Mod and you could distribute the threads among 3-4 Mods, right?
And finally, guys..........it's not just one person who makes a forum a pleasant and interesting place. We all should do our best, to contribute to that showing respect for other's opinion and staying cool also when we argue. Would be the best way to make Doz stay, I'm sure.;)

Well I wrote this already, but the fact is, dozzer, that this forum needs you as a mod: you are simply irreplaceable. No one can force you to stay (even if we are trying to do just that :D), but you must understand what an important part of this board you are.

I don't know you that well since I haven't really checked out the Inter board doz, but if half of what these guys say is true, the WSB is gonna lose one hell of a poster and moderator, and that would be a great loss for the WSB!

I respect doz's decision to step down, but have to say that he's among the best members of WSB, bar none. The Inter forum needs him as moderator. The comments made above by certain others in this thread are even further evidence that doz is needed here.

I appreciate everyone's views and suggestions, but i think i'm making the correct decision in resigning. To answer Slavenik, my activity on WSB will become severely depleted from September onwards and at that point i was going to resign anyway. However recent activity and situations on this board have forced me to make the decision a little earlier than planned.:(
Anyway, this decision of mine should be the dawn of a new era for the forum. Wth FANTA's mysterious disappearance it looks as if there will be two new mods for the forum.:)
As for il fenomeno, i'm sure he's delighted with my decsion, but he hasn't sent me any PM's of any description.:D

Personally i thought the one was enough but as long as people continue to post in this one i suppose it has to stay open.

doz, it's a shame you have to resign. you're probably the only mod here who brought reason to the board as well as enough credibility.
this board is in desperate need now of that leadership and class. it's going to be a tough loss for sure.
may i take a moment to nominate blaugrana as the new inter mod ? i know he's probably going to let me have it for suggesting him but if he is willing to take the job i think it would be tremendously beneficial for this board for a number of reasons not to mention the obvious which is he'll most certainly fulfill the void left by the dozzer's resignation. perhaps not completely. but one more qualified than blaugrana for the job is non existant.

Blau would be my canditate also, if he accepted the job.
I think we could use two new mods, because Fanta hardly ever posts in here. We have many regular posters here who would do very well as mods: nismo, ayt, Interfanatic...not to forget elcino, who starts so many threads.
What do you think?

BLau is definitely great, it doesn't take a genius to figure that out, but I think the responsibilities of one board is more than enough.
For that reason, I'd pick Inter Fanatic, he's one of the best posters here.

Yeah i back big girls BLAU(SE)GRANA for mod of the Inter board as well, he's defintily one of the best mods on WSB.I doubt that any1 on here has a bad word to say about the guy.
Ideally Blau and Doz could both be mods on the Inter board.

Should the dreaded occur and Doz leaves, the two Mods I can see that can maintain this board is Zul, and Inter_Fanatic.

Zek, of course i could stay until September but to be honest, i have no desire to for various reasons. Also a forum this size needs mods who are active 5-6 times a week and that is no longer possible for me. It's OK for my other forums which are smaller than this but not for Inter forum.
BTW Nismo, i never even saw that argument.:confused:
And eLcino, FANTA hasn't posted since the end of January and that one post only occurred because i set up a thread questioning his whereabouts.
Anyway, it's time to stop this living in the past and get on with the future (ie) the new mod(s). I'm just waiting for Omar to confirm that he will remove me and then we can start selecting the new mod(s).:)

I've been reading through this thread and noted a couple of interesting things. I'm a bit surprised doz won't change his mind and stay on as mod. It's unfortunate considering the overwhelming support he's recieved in this thread. It seems as though his mind is definately made up.
That said, I'd be glad to take the vacancy left by Doz. I'm flattered by the people mentioning my name. Thanks for the thought. If I was granted the opportunity to become a mod for this forum, I would consider the role a caretaker one until the day that Doz returns.

i dont have anything against you or any other....as far as m conserned even severus can take it over......but the thing is....NISMO IS THE NICEST DUDE AROND HERE.....+he's wise enough to make right decisions....and the same goes for MUSIQ.......

I would suggest a "respected veteran" thing for you as a former moderator in order to be able to join moderator's forum and provide your perspective and experience contributing to the benefit of the forum.
IMO two new Mods are needed here around, I suggest Blau and Ilcapitano, who are always cool and correct. Together with Zek and 001 they will make a great Mod team. ;)

It's a pity for this board that Doz will not reconsider but let's respect his decision. If you guys are selcting two new mods, I'd nominate two of the most intelligent, objective interisti on WSB, that being Blaugrana & il capitano. Filling doz's boots won't be easy but they would up to the task :D

we need new blood and new people with their eyes ready to do wonders. I am getting bored and tired of this routine and the forum ain't go better because of me being too long at this place.
its about being respected then being selected as mod, being even more respected, and now being respected because you're a mod, I am going to be respected just for being a respected member not a mod with power :evil:
