Roberto Carlos' Arsenal lure
Brazilian World Cup winner Roberto Carlos says he wants to join Premiership champions Arsenal when his contract with Spanish aristocrats Real Madrid expires.

The 29-year-old wing-back, who was a member of Brazil's 2002 World Cup-winning team, told the News of the World that he is keen to join a couple of his compatriots at Highbury.

"I am ready to play in the English Premier League and know it will be suitable for me," Carlos said.

"When my contract finishes that is definitely my priority and at Arsenal there are fellow Brazilians."

"I think as a club they are like Real Madrid - they have a supreme confidence that looks utterly unbreakable.

"When a team is like that, they are difficult to beat. They have a great squad, a fantastic coach and a balanced team."

"Everyone is relaxed and knows their position in the club and I know they can achieve unimaginable success. I have discussed this with Gilberto Silva and he has told me what to expect at Arsenal."

"When Brazilians come into a different environment like England, it's useful and intelligent to have a few of them together. When Edu plays with Gilberto, Arsenal play a different kind of football. It works."

"So in England I would love to have the company of other players from Brazil, that would make my introduction a lot smoother, and we could win things quicker.

"I have been to London a few times and I am sure I would enjoy its attractions with my family. Who would not like to live there?"

didn't he say he wanted to join US!?

 these brazilians...are pathetic.
They always want to play in THE BIG TEAM of the moment, and right now it happens to be Arsenal.
In the summer Carlos said in another interview that he can't join Inter before they win the scudetto. I don't even want players with that attitude near my favourite team.

He's an idiot. In the past 4 month he declared that he wants to join the Japanese J - League, Manchester Utd, Inter and now it's Arsenal. The guy has zero credibility.

Are you even an Inter fan or what? Best left back in History? This is Inter and not the Brazil NT.

What, did he play Napolean in a school play or something?

Exactly. He'd be just another Ronaldo, and I don't want that sort of player anywhere near Inter. He wants a free ride and can't be bothered to work towards something. I don't know what's worse though, the Brazilian players or the fans that follow them.

Exactly. I wouldn't put stock into anything he says. Sounds like he's looking for the most money he can get be it he leaves after his contract with Real Madrid is up, they decide to transfer him or he just re-signs with Real Madrid.

Signings like Cannavaro are constructive because of the attitude they hold. Cannavaro didn't join Juventus, even though they were champions, he joined Inter to make them Champions.

I'm a fan of Roberto Carlos as a footballer, not a fan of his attitude.

With Cannavaro's current form ( Cruz scored goal after he dribbled Canna) we will never win scudetto. This Inter is playing worse than Inter of last year....

Anyways, Hope dies at the last moment....

FORZA INTER!!!

I think heŽll stay with us, until heŽs not needed. Other teams can wait.

And, why is this in the Inter board?

It looks like adapting to new teams isn't that easy, no matter how great a player...and it isn't just with defenders but also Rivaldo this season and Rui Costa the previous for Milan...Nedved for Juventus etc.

new team, new players, new strategy, new ground, new fans

That's why we have the highest transfer players turnover rate in the World
