alright..
hypothetically.. lets say that, god forbid, we dont win any silverware this season... and obviously cuper will get sacked.. who would be the number 1 replacement?
Nominees:
1. Roberto Mancini
2. Fabio Capello
3. Zaccheroni
4. Van Gaal
5. Del Neri
6. Other... please state.
I would opt for Mancini, Cappelo or even Del Neri. IMO, Capello is the best proven coach in the world, although he's had a bad season with Roma...
Mancini is pretty young, but he has done with Lazio is fantastic... and then Del Neri... whos teams play the best football IMO...

Mancini's not gonna leave Lazio, he's just joined the Board of Directors there.
I don't think that Capello's going to arrive either. He and Sensi have finally made up, saying that they're going to make some new projeect and develop youngsters. That means Capello's going to hang around Roma a little longer.
But maybe when Cuper's contract runs out in 2005, concurrent with Capello's, he might arrive. But Moratti doesn't seem like he's going to sack Cuper.

There is a possibility that if we dont win anything this season, then Cuper would be sacked.
But its too early to talk about that. Maybe the situation would be a bit more clear for 5/6 weeks.
I belive that we will win the Scudetto.

How can Mancini take over Inter and simultaneously be in the board of Directors for Lazio??

But seriously.. even if we win wit cuper... im not totally satisfied with how this team plays..
I mean, seriously, i can count on ONE hand the game we really have dominated and out played the opponent, like milan does every match, under cupers reign.
This needs to drastically change... or seriously, we need to get someone who can win..

Cuper is taking way too much heat , which resulted in us fans talking about his replacement .
If Moratti was any wise he wouldn't think of sacking Cuper, instead, he would think about sacking certain players.
Cuper has a certain type of game in his mind, and apparently the players at his disposal have not, or cannot, apply that. He asked for REAL wingers and Moratti did not do that for him. We all know how important wingers are in Cupers style of play. He wanted Kily at the beginning, then Solari, then there were rumors about Overmars, Giggs, Luciano...etc.
I wouldn't like seeing Cuper sacked. But if he is, then I'd say bring in Del Neri .... No No , how about ................ Cosmi ???:D

I doubt it. Manicini ended his playing career at Lazio, he loves the club. Now he's the coach for the first year and the team is doing fine, better than most expected.
If I was him, I would stay and see what future brings.
Mancini would be the ideal coach though. Capello is also a good alternative, and he's had so much rows with Sense during this season that he might be likelier to leave Roma.
Both of these coaches would bring some fresh air, some nice CREATIVE football for a change. So Cuper doesn't have the wingers he wants...so what. He should change the tactics then, but it just doesn't go through his thick skull...

Ronaldo is not human enough to be taken as an example. Mancini is high on one thing - loyalty. He doesn't seem the kind of person who would dump Lazio when they need him most.
Poor fellow, tried his best to save the Viola, but the idiotic president Cecci Gori chucked him out of the position. He offered to stop his wages, as he has done even now with LAzio, he offered to even play.....

Oh really? That's why the man we call Captain resisted getting paid thrice his current salary to move the same club which your idol went?
Zanetti would have every reason to - he's been here for a long time, but hasn't won any trophies, he hasn't had any injury obligations which some unfaithful beasts never feel, he would get a huge salary.......
Learn something from this man, Il Fenomeno.
Mancini may not be as fervourous about Lazio as J Zanetti is about Inter, but he's not going to dump Lazio so fast.
Del Neri!!!

Cuper has been describe the "defence magician"... but our defence literally sucks. Cannavaro has been a disappointment, matrix has been injured. We have like the 5th or 6th best defence in italy.. which is scandalous.. we should have the best.
I hope and offensive playing coach joins.. i.e Mancini, Del Neri, Zacceheroni or even Van Gaal.

Love him or hate him, Cuper did integrate the squad perfectly. They were in tatters when he arrived, with Bobo ready to move to Juventus.
If anything, we have to appreciate Cuper for giving that tremendous determination to the players.
And when all else fails, that determination brings us results.

He did do that. Also I like him as a character: he's calm, a gentleman, never complains about referees (what's the point after game is over?)...
It's simply that his tactics are quite boring and predictable, and aren't bringing success against big teams. With this squad, Inter can play nice attacking, creative football. AND WIN.
his tactics were ok in Valencia but here... anyway he turned our 6:0 circus in a good team. He brought everything basic to the team. but he's struggling to bring something more than basics and again i am starting to think that the problem is with players as well. those guys, as we had a discussion few months ago, are "losers" (wrong mentality) and predictable (tired of playing :silly:)
I've got the highest respect to him as well and must say he relieved the scudetto hope for us.
and I don't know but I think it's Moratti's influence in giving a way to so many quality players in summer...

Interesting news from Lazio camp:
Roberto Mancini admits he would not turn down an offer to take charge of Inter next season.
The Lazio boss has been named by Nerazzurri President Massimo Moratti as his ideal replacement for Hector Cuper, should something go wrong with the Argentine.
“Leaving Lazio would be like interrupting a beautiful dream,” Mancini told ‘Tuttosport’, “but if that should happen and I had a choice then I would put all my cards on Inter’s table.”
Moratti has always been a fan of the ex-Sampdoria legend and was never able to bring him to the San Siro as a player.
“In 1997 I was on the verge of leaving Sampdoria and had offers from Inter. I chose to stay in the end, and perhaps it was an error, but I followed my heart.”
“Today I would act differently, especially for President Moratti. Thankfully there are still people in football like him.”
There have been many reports of a split between Cuper and the team, a row that already saw Ronaldo leave the club last summer, and failure to win the Scudetto could see him sacked.
“Cuper is a good man and an excellent Coach,” concluded his rival. “But Juventus could never be my future destination, especially as my friend Gianluca Vialli is angling for that post.”
It's great news...but then again, I remember reading that Manicini said something completely different just few weeks back. Is the media twisting his words? Or is he really beginning to change his mind?

Who knows, man! I thought that Mancini was more tru-blooded than that. But anyways, Cuper does have a contract till 2005, and I think Mancini's contract is also more or less the same time.
But till now, Moratti doesn't seem to have lost any faith in Cuper.

If Moratti had lost his faith, he wouldn't speak out right now, knowing that might disturb the team. And if Cuper has no trophies to show for all his hard work at the club, it's likely he'll be out of the door next summer.

I dunno, I'm starting to get 2nd thoughts about Cuper. Its true he did organise the team well, instilled a great team-spirit,etc, etc. But he simply refuses to keep alternative tactics except his 4-4-2. The team needs a whole revamp if you ask me. So maybe, just maybe, Moratti might let him go.

Hey guys....
Long time no c.... well the fuss is going on now about the sacking of CUPER, but is he the only one to be blamed for misrable (showing) yet (good) season. If we talk in terms of results then we can say that we did well considering the number of injuries and available players for exapmle we can't blame players like CHRISTIAN ZANETTI and DI BIAGIO for not playing well, because in my opinion they played well and they tried to give their best, but the're no ZIDANE's, FIGO's or BECKHAM's!!!
If u ppl can catch my point we dont have CREATIVE players with all respect to EMRE, DALMAT, and RECOBA and when u dont have creative players u well often lose position and suffer in midfield and eventually lose to big teams.
So why should we cry about losing the scudetto or the champions league when we dont deserve even to be in the semi's. It's a pitty, but being honost is the best thing to do.
I think that we need new blood and new attitude. I read on soccerage website that INTER signed KARAGOUNIS who is a GREEK that plays for PANATHINAIKOS. With all respect to him as well do u ppl think that he will changed anything? Is he an answer to very weak midfield comparing the standards of big teams? My opinion is he will suffer in the first few months and he will spend a lot of time on the bench and he will end up by quitting the team. I hope he proves me wrong, but my point of all that is why INTER's management dont learn from past mistakes?! Why we sell players like MUTU & ADRIANO when we badly need them! Why we dont bring a (WNNIER) to coach the team so he can teach players how to win and give their all until the last minute of the season? Why we dont buy (WINNERS) who can influence the team and transform it and make it fight till the end. Look at JUVE, to me the're the best example that INTER should copy. Why not when we are disperat to win a trophy we should learn from mistakes.
k guys thats all i want to say for now
