View Full Version : The Yugoslavs should have a great Diving team for Sydney...

as I never saw so many dives in my life...Maybe Stojkovic could be a two sport star like Deion Sanders...for soccer and diving...
It was a shame players like Stojkovic and Jugovic made a mockery of sportsmanship yesterday against Norway...
I watched the BBC feed and they kept saying how the Yugos are the "masters" of the dive and in "faking" injury...and they were right...
The display by the Yugos yesterday was sad because their players are so much more skilled than the Norwegians but they had to resort to a sick display filled with 4 yellow cards and a red...and Jugovic should have had a red for his "tackle" and Jokanic (spelling) should have got at least another yellow for another of his elbows...
Yesterday's Yugo display was unsportsmanlike and definitely shameful.
I only hope the refs took notice and force the Yugos to clean up their thuggery and diving...
The Yugoslavs know how to protect a 1-0 lead, something the Croatians have proven they can't do.

it wasn't diving, it was more like falling down after being fauled....i saw the game twice, and maybe Stojkovic dived only once in the first half....just tell me when did our players dive and in which minute, i'll check and tell you what really happened....
Zvonimir

JUNKY-okay I think diving by the Yugos took place in the following minutes:...take a look in the 3, 5, 13, 15, 23, 24, 25 (twice) 34, 45, 46 th minute in the first half...
in the 2nd...look at 47, 48, 53, 56 (twice), 65, 71st, 80, 81, 84, 87, 90 (a remarkable 3 times!!!), 92nd and at the final whistle...
Let me know-I probably missed a couple.
Also, remember the play Mijatovic acted as if he were dead and the ref told him to get up...he quickly was "recovered"...that was classic Mijatovic which is a shame because I actually liked watching him play from his Real days with Davor...
I also think Jugovic is a punk...no wonder Boban had to chew him out during a Seria A game this year! What is wrong with that guy???
I think Mihajlovic has had a real bad influence on all the players...even the young Kezman got into the act...

Zvonimir, i'm really surprised by people like you....did you care that much when Bilic was faking in the WC98? i don't think so!
our players didn't dive, except Stojkovic once in the first half....even if they did, i don't care about it....i hope you'll watch the YUG-SPA game....enjoy it! since, CRO can't play soccer, what else can you do than watch YUG on TV :D....anyways, i don't care if we go in the 1/4ers....we've eliminated CRO, and that's the only thing that matters :D....
btw, Mijatovic was on the ground because he collided with a NOR player in the air....Mijat was hit in the back of his head, while the NOR player had to leave because his face was covered with blood....i'm telling you, i've seen the game 2 times....we didn't dive! we only stayed on the ground a bit longer than usual after being fouled constantly.... :)
Ya I aslo watched over BBC, ITV sports...I have to say there wasnt a single dive, only players diving were the Norwegians i.e When they asked for the penalty, after Solskajer dived. :D

So Grobby old pal-you watched the BBC feed too?
Then you heard the commentators comments about the Yugo players I assume. Why then were they constantly making those comments?

Zvonimir, our players did what they had to, I agree some were dives, but some of them were just fouls, normal fouls. This is a totally stupid post by you, just like all of your posts until now have been idiotic. Didnt you think that Norway's #7 made a mockery of the game and was totally unsportsmanship by him that he was lying down for a minute when Kezman fouled him just to get Kezman a red card. And of course 5 seconds after Kezman got the red card he stood up immediately and gave smiles to his players.
And by the way, you say that we dont have any sportsmanship because we dive...just look at yourself, EURO96 you were the dirtiest country of all...you kicked , punched..you were boxing , not playing soccer. I remember against Germany when somebody kicked Klinsman while he was on the ground, the game was so rough, but hey....that's the croatians, what can we expect ??
I wonder for whom the commentators were cheering for, Zvonimir. :D
Zvonimir
06-19-2000, 10:58 PM
Mihajlovic-face it-your team looked like the thugs they are yesterday...it was sad to see...they got away with it because the NOrwegians were intimidated...
#7 of Norway I agree acted but no one told Kezman to foul him after he played the ball...
As for Euro 96-we showed our great class particularily against the Danes...as for the Germans-we did not back down-we showed other countries that you do not need to be afraid of the Germans-and then we destoyed them in the WC...
If you think the Yugos played a clean game yesterday then you my friend haven't got the slightest clue...but I think your posts reinforce that every time...
I only hope the Yugos don't try their "tactics" against the classy Spaniards like Raul...for the sake of football and sportsmanship...

06-19-2000, 11:29 PM
hahahaahha Zvonimir, for the sake of football. If you would have been neutral, you would have said that it was an absolutely fair game, with many mistakes from the referee.
And I as a neutral guy tell you that your team was the most dirty team at EURO96.
Zvonimir, I know it hurts that croatia is sitting at home watching Euro, but you dont have to be such an @** about it.

That was SLAVEN BILIC who kicked Klinnsman when he was on the floor. Bravo Bilic!! My countryman right or wrong.
As for the Bilic-Blanc incident, yes Bilic made a meal of it, BBBBUUUUUTTTT, you're not allowed to hit somebody in the face, which is what Blanc tried to do, and he fully deserved to be sent off.
The legend of Bilic goes on :)

So that is what Cro is all about- hiting people in their backs.
Prosinecki
06-20-2000, 01:36 AM
No, that was an isolated incident. Like I said, Bilic was wrong to do it, but it won't make me like him any less.
BUt it wasn't in the back, it was in the stomach.
It was what that Martina Navratilova look alike deserved for taking a dive. I don't think he dived much after that ;)
Mihajloviç

Prosinecki is the only cro guy here you can talk to normally...
Prosinecki honestly did you think Yugoslavia had no sportsmanship yesterday ?
Atleast a man who understands us norwegians. A thing I left out in my little "speach" at my topic. They dove more often than the kicked the ball..!

That again is not true. We did not dive we just exaggurated at some fouls, that's all, and of course there were some dives in the game, by both sides. Take for instance the dive by Stojkovic, or the one by Solskjaer in front of the net. I am sorry to say this, but Mykland's behaviour was terrible, if anybody should have been sent off, it should have been him.
Mihajloviç
06-20-2000, 02:33 AM
And when Mykland dove once again, and Jokanovic tried to lift him up he raised a hand on Jokanovic and tried to slap him to which Mijatovic came and yelled at him. Now flo, that must be sportsmanship!
Zvonimir
06-20-2000, 02:39 AM
Hey Mihajlovic-what about Jugovic's ridiculous tackle that only got him a yellow?-he actually jumped with both feet on the poor Norwegian...tell me what you think of that or did you "miss" that one?
And what about that defender (jokanovic or something like that) who got a yellow for a vicious elbow? He gave another one later on that was somehow missed by the ref who missed the dazed and staggering Norwegian...thank God he didn't get a concusion...
Let me guess-you missed that one too? It doesn't surprise us...
The Norwegians can thank God they didn't leave in ambulances...but at least they left with their heads held high...knowing they didn't resort to the pathetic display by their unsportsmanlike opponents...
I warn the Spainards to watch their backs...
Mihajloviç
06-20-2000, 02:58 AM
r, if my team would have been called Croatia your opinion would have been alllll different. HAHAHA poor Norwegian, oh poor Norwegian! Jokanovic's elbow obviously was not on purpose, and the Jugovic thing was because Milosevic was down and Mykland would not kick the ball out so we could replace him so Jugovic had to get out the ball somehow, and he could only make a rough tackle.
Zvonimir, you should not even comment on this, as your team is the dirtiest team in the world.
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! :) :) :)
This is hilarious. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Laugh because zvonimir is so stupid in his posts and it just shows how much of a sore loser he is. Or cry because I am laughing so hard :) :) :)
Hey Zvonimir, how does a Serb count how many goals we scored in Zagreb?

All i can say is FFFFFUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKKK, Zvonimir get the f@#k over it. If Italy, Spain, Germany, England etc, played the way we did you wouldn't give a sh!t but because it was the Yugo team you have to make such a big deal out of it. Why can't you be like BBB or Pros? They say there opinion what ever it may be and get over it but you just seem to keep on going and going and going...enough already.
We dived, we should have had more players sent off and our team played so dirty it was unbelievable.....is that what you wanted to hear? There i said it for you. You and i both the know the truth, try to be normal for a change. And find some other team to pick on.

sorry to disappoint you FLO....Zvonimir is always trying to mess with everyone on this board....he is croatian and he hates Serbs....that's the only reason why he posts such BS here....FLO, get over it, NOR lost....they played the worst football in the tournament so far....'They dove more often than the kicked the ball'....maybe you should start talking about Stojkovic and Jugovic who were playing with the NOR midfield....we've beaten the NOR midfield so badly in the first half....they couldn't even touch the ball....
btw, we outplayed NOR in all aspects of the game....except in fouls, NOR=17 YUG=15....it was a tough game....but, that's soccer....btw, it looked like the referee is Norvegian when he gave a red card to Kezman in the last minute....it's so simple, if you don't want to waste time, don't touch your opponents....it didn't look like the NOR players avoided getting into a physical play in the last 10 minutes of the game....
red star forever

Zvonimir, you seem to have forgotten Slaven Bilic from France '98?? :)
Maybe he could be nominated for an Emmy for his outstanding acting performance? :)
As I said: 'the ends justify the means'. Three points are what counts, we can argue on and on but Yugoslavia was a better team on the pitch and knew exactly how to keep the lead. It wasn't realy nice for the sake of football, hey, but, Yugoslavians are far more experienced then for example Slovenians to lose a lead - it cost them a few cards and that's what they'll be paying off in the next rounds for playing that way. Hey, wouldn't we all do anything, anything to keep the lead. Diving, yeah we would all: dive, scream, yell, fall down, get up, take long breaks at free kicks, outs and all over again to get 3 points in the end.
Well done is all I have to say.

Zvonomir, Diving???? The biggest discrace in the history of soccer was the dive that Suker took against Jamaica in the World cup where he was about 4 feet away and he looked for the ref and just took a dive and winced in pain was carried off, got up right after and scored and the whole time the Jamaican player just looked around in shock. As for the Bilic incident, everyone booed Bilic in the match against Holland and it was a gross incident that cost a player from his dream of playing in the final, watch out what you say because it may bite you back.... Why are you guys so fixated in watching us play to loose so much, personally I couldn't care less about you guys, unless we are playing you... I understand that you are not in the tournament and believe me I would hate to be out of this tournament. It's so exciting to watch your team play, it's awsome...in case you want to know because you easily forget the feeling when a couple of years go by...
NAPRED PLAVI!!!!

Mihajlovic, I'll give you my opinion, but keep in mind, it's purely from a footballing point of view, not politically motivated in the least bit.
I think Jugo was a little too agressive, but not as bad as the media is making it out to be. At the same time, I thought there was a little too much play acting, but again, not as much as the media says.
I think it was Jokanovic with the elbow, which could be argued both ways. It could have been unintentional, but he probably could have been more careful with his arm. I don't think he meant to do it at all, but he was a little careless.
Stojkovic seemed to be in a bad mood from the beginning. In the 2nd minute, a Norwegian tackled the ball away from him, and kicked it out of bounds. Stojkovic looked at him, did a little stutter step, but then stopped. I honestly thought he was going to charge the guy. I'm sure he wasn't about to do that, it just looked that way to me.
I think the reason it's blown so out of proportion is because Jugo is easy to pick on. Because of the NATO bombing, the media knows they're an easy target, and they know they'll basically get no slack for attacking you guys. It sucks for you guys, but I think it's gonna be that way for a little while still.
Another reason is because of the competition. I don't want to offend the Norwegians (flo) but I have to say this. The Norwegians are soft, borderline sissy's. They're not used to a physical game, so they don't know how to handle it. Any team that has big players like you guys, will play physical, it's almost impossible not to. I just don't think the Norweigans were prepared for it.
So just to summarize, I thought you were a little unsportsmanlike, but it wasn't that bad, and I've seen much worse than that.
As for the rest of you, MAJKU TI JEBEM, STOP KNOCKING BILIC. THE FRENCH MAY HAVE BOOED HIM IN THE THIRD PLACE GAME, BUT PHUCK THEM, THEIR PLAYER DESERVED TO BE SENT OFF BUT THEY DIDN'T WANT TO ADMIT. THEY CLAIM HE IS INNOCENT BUT BILIC OVERREACTING DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT THAT BLANC TRIED TO HIT HIM IN THE FACE, AND HE HAS ONLY HIMSELF TO BLAME FOR BEING SENT OFF. THOSE FRENCHMAN SHOULD BE HAPPY THEY WON THE WORLD CUP, THEY DIDN'T SCORE TWO GOALS ON US, WE GAVE UP TWO GOALS, BIIIIGGGGG DIFFERENCE.

One more thing, the Kezman red card was a little harsh. I even felt sorry for the kid. You could see from his reaction that it was not intentional. A yellow card maybe, but not a red.

Prosinecki thank you for your honesty I must say I am surprised and I agree on most BUT that we were unsportsmanship. Couldnt you see in #7's (Mykland) looks that he absolutely hated us ? That guy looked like a bastard to me. Sorry for those who I offended with this statement.

I didn't think Mykland was very sportsmanlike either. I just talked about Jugo because that's the question you asked.
I don't know if he hated you guys, but I wasn't very impressed with him.
And once more for all you guys

Prosinecki - a very fair observation. I agree with most of it. Glad that some Croats have a clear mind and can speak without any animosity towards Serbs.

Zvonimir is alright. He might bust em a bit, but I haven't seen him say anything really bad. AFter all, it goes both ways. I looked at the past threads in the Cro forum when I joined, and there were some provocative posts there by some of you guys as well. They got so bad they had to be closed out.
He might make fun of you guys, but I haven't seen him make any rude comments.
