Well we won! That's good. Now the only thing we need to do is keep on winning for a couple of more weeks and the championship is ours :)
Actually, do you guys realize that this is our first win against a good side? When was the last time we beat a good side in a meaningful match? Ireland in BG '98! No offense to any Macedonians if there are any here, but I don't really considers Macedonia a "good" side.
Onto the match... 1st half: Just by the way we played in the first 5 minutes, you knew that we were bound to score a goal soon. I mean our whole attitude was different then from the Slovenia game, we were playing like we know how! The first goal should have been followed by a few more, but unfortunately as time wore on our effectiveness dropped. We were still dominating the game, and except for a few brief stretches in the 1st half, we had the tempo going our way. Excellent save by Kralj!
2nd half: The Norwegians started getting frustrated realizing just how good our team is. They were all but helpless when it came to creating chances. In fact, if it weren't for that lucky header against Spain, Norway would still be scoreless in this tournament. They have a good solid team, but no "stars" and no real offensive firepower. And don't talk to me about Flo and Solskjaer, cuz Flo just kind of "flowed" away, while Ole Gunner seemed to trip over his name every time he got the ball.
As the Norwegians started getting tough, the Serbs responded. You know that we don't let anybody push us around. The last 30 mins of the game were very ugly (did you see that Norwegian busted open??!!). We could have put in a few in the net in the 2nd half also, while only real threat that the Norwegians had was that "double header" that went over, and at the end when the black guy's (jel se on izgubio??? kako on dospeo do norveske majku mu jebem) shot just went wide.
And now for players ranking
22. Ivica Kralj 85% - Playing much better then usual, for the most part he seemed sure of himself and did not allow a goal. However, my heart stopped every time he got out of the box to punch away a ball. He needs to work on controlling those crosses
:)3. Goran Djorovic 79% - Was quite for most of the game, but on few occasions he did press forward and fed the ball to the right players. Against Spain, he will need to improve his defensive orientation and ability.
:)4. Slavisa Jokanovic 76% - Pretty much played as well as Djorovic. He was stable in defense, but I don't recall him contributing anything up front. But that's ok.
:cool:5. Miroslav Djukic 88% Great showing today! He broke up many Norwegian attacks and had excellent ball control and possession. Slowly but surely he is becoming out top defensive player.
:cool:17. Ljubinko Drulovic 88% - Another excellent output by Drulovic! He is another player that has impressed me so far in the tournament.
7. Vladimir Jugovic 88% - Another excellent output by former Toyota Cup player of the game! He was practically everywhere on the field, and probably had the possession of the ball the longest out of all our guys. He is not the world's best dribbler, but he runs and you can always expect that at the very least he will give you a near-maximum output. He created some chances and even had a few shots on goal. A key player to our game.
8. Predrag Mijatovic 68% - Much better then in the 1st game, but still nowhere near his capabilities. He too had a couple of scoring chances but if he had given more of an effort, he would have had even more! We really need him to step up in the upcoming game(s). I don't think we are capable of winning the whole thing with Pedja being invisible during the whole time.
9. Savo Milosevic 89% - Another excellent performance by Savo. I am really impressed by the way he has played so far. Not only for the fact that he has been scoring goals, but every time he got the ball, the Norwegians looked threatened. He created a nice chance in the 1st half for Jugovic with a header. Co-Player of the Game
10. Dragan Stojkovic 89% - Too bad he can't give a 90 min output anymore! He was really awesome today during the first 60-65 mins, he was dribbling around Norwegians and I think he should charge every single one of them cuz he gave them a lesson in football today! No player on the Norway side came close to matching his skill. Piksi legenda! Co-Player of the Game
:)13. Slobodan Komljenovic 73% - Had an OK performance, but then again it was enough. Nothing great is expected from him, and as long as he doesn't let the offensive players go around him, we should be fine
:)14. Nisa Saveljic 78% - Not bad at all! Showed great hustle in the midfield, had good ball distribution and wasn't letting Norwegians get much on him.
16. Dejan Govedarica no rank Wasn't on the field enough to receive a grade. But, from the little time he played, it was satisfactory.
20. Mateja Kezman no rank Jebiga jadan klinac! Sudija je peder!
21. Albert Nadj no rank satisfactory.
