we were unstoppable, back to our very best
absolutely everything came off - our failings just disappeared for the first 20minutes. Complete physical dominance, City's small team where being pushed around. Set pieces where brilliant (every corner beating the first man!! a minor miracle) and most importantly of all our passing.... oh my god sumptous, precise, blink and you'll miss it 1st time pass and move (at about 150moh). SuperBobby's back to his best and his performance was matched by Henry, dennis, paddy and sylvain. City defence v Arsenal attack was King canoute against the tide and poor old Dunne was drowning. was a mercy killling of a substitution when keegan gave him the hook at halftime. missing Distin was a mortal blow for city, leaving no pace in the centre of their defence - Dunne was absolutely slaughtered on ITV but better defenders than him will be made to look foolish if we can maintain this form. Dunne's drunksnail pace was a serious problem esp when KK's tactics seemed to be attackattackattack! with Sun Jihai flying forward at every chance city's formation was more like 3-3-4. repeatedly Leaving dunne 1on1 with Henry wasn't helping city's cause, he was exposed by his teammates and humiliated by the frenchman.
The City fans where stunning - cheered their team from start to finish. when they scored straight away they where singing "easy easy" and "you're not singing anymore" - at one point in the second aresnal put together a stunning move that swept across the pitch, virtually all of our players moved the ball on with a one touch pass unitl TH missed a relatively easy 1on1 with Nash (who actually played quite well) the city fans stood and clapped the move, some of the best football we've played all season. and sung "can we play you every week" brilliant brilliant fans they clapped every one of our players off the pitch as keegan said if they can get a team half as good as thier fans they'll be near to where we are!!
The sun shone so brightly it was hard to see first half and this arsenal team is MORE dazzling.
After this performance no1 will try and attack us for another year till we play another KK side.
what a day
simply superb

Ryan Giggs Ryan Giggs

It's easy to tell Henry was on fire at the weekend, all the players looked more confident being able to give him the ball and then watch the theatrics

JD

5 goals
5 different scorers
Pires our best player
but it's still a 1manteam for rule
o well

(how liverpool would love to have even one man in their team, rather than a pathetic infirm manger ordering innefectual boys to hoof the ball up the pitch)

The Rule

waffle waffle, same shit time after time,Pires this, bergkamp that, keown is world-class.

Face it, when Henry goes off to join Real and brings Vieira with him Arsenal will be nothing.

JD
03-03-2003, 02:01 PM
so r we a 2manteam now?

The Rule
03-03-2003, 02:19 PM
No to play well you need Henry, but Vieira is your captain and without his presence your defense would ship goals, left right and centre.

JD
03-03-2003, 02:27 PM
so we r still a onemanteam?
which one is the one?

you know very well that your team depends heavily on Henry, so does everyone else

JD
03-03-2003, 02:57 PM
so y mention Vieira if its all about Henry?
If Henry is the eponymous oneman of your oft referred to onemanteam accusation then why mention paddy at all?
surely the whole point of a onemanteam is that only the oneman matters the other players are irelavent - hence onemanteam.
your onemanteam argument is clearly diluted if anotherman is at all involved in the onemanteam equation

are u saying we are a oneandahalfmanteam-
totally 100% dependent on Henry...

and 50% dependent on Vieira

sounds like what you mean isn't that arsenal are a onemanteam
what you really want to say is arsenal are a teamandahalf!

a half a team maybe

i mentioned Vieira because he said that if Arsenal kept selling there best players he'd leave(he said this after Overmars and Petit were sold)Henry is your best player and if Real decide this summer that they want him, it's bye bye Titi and hello big ears.and Vieira will follow him out the door and you'll be bringing back Grimandi to enforce your midfield

w8 a minute
this is going the wrong way!
I'm trying to persuade you we're not a one manteam
now you don't even think we're a whole team!?
if we r only half a team it doesn't say much for the epl that we r so dominant.

be fair rule - y does it have to be Henry AND Vieira leaving
if we r a onemanteam just Henry leaving would be enough

Henry doesn't look like leaving anyway
when a man is bored of London he is bored of life

Bored of London??easily done.If Real come calling Henry will say goodbye.and with Wenger allegedly Madrid bound in 2004 or 2005 he'll have all the more reason to go and play his best years with a top club

I'll phrase it better for you JD,If Henry leaves, then you fabolous free-flowing football will end and so will the days of winning the CL, if Vieira leaves IMO you will struggle to make the CL on a regular basis.

Dominant in the EPL??I'd think about that if i was you.

champions + 8points clear
how much more dominant do u want?
Neither wenger nor Henry have ever shown any interest in going to Madrid. and i repeat the man who is bored of london is bored of life -
if u think thats easily done sounds like you're staring down the barrell!

London is far from a great city,i can think of at least 20 i'd rather live in.

Two titles in five years is not dominant.

Wenger and Henry have both said it would be an honour to be at Real.

1- don't be silly, either you're lying or insane (can you even name 20things to do/ places to visit in other cities you have been to!?!) and I pray that armpit Liverpool isn't one of them
2 no but two in two will be

Do you want a list of better places to live than London??No Liverpool is not one, but i'd prefer to live on Merseyside than near a bunch of arrogant ***kers

No two in two is not dominant DJ, 7 in 10 years is.

I don't care, i never believe any of the shit you talk.Ask someone who knows something about the game.

Its just strange to me I've never heard that before-
I'm an arsenal news junkie who has their computer set to update them on any and every arsenal news story from every paper (english and french) or website.
I follow RMadrid in Spain and check the vast majority of their news items yet I've never seen these quotes.
but as u said u don't care to confirm where you got them because it doesn't matter what I believe, oh well.

As for 20 cities better than London no I don't want a list - not that anyone could make one. You'd prefer not to live near a bunch of arrogant wankers - so you chose to live in Dublin!!! ask the rest of ireland what they think of you.

Waffle Waffle, you're full of shit, no ones cares what you have to say.I'd rather live here than in London, plus my business is here so i have to live here. And the rest of Ireland would rather live in Dublin than in London.London is a dump, it's full of junkies, the crime level is huge.it's dirty and the people are full of themselves for no reason. The standard of live in places like Madrid,Rome,Milan etc is far superior to London. It would be very easy to name 20 cities in the world better than London, Australia has at least 5(Melbourne,Sydney,Perth,Adelaide and Brisbane),America has at least 8(NY,Boston,Chicago,Kansas,Houston,Dallas,Denver,Vegas and many more), and there are many in Europe.Face it JD,London is a dump.

As for setting you computer to get you news on Arsenal, well done.Wenger made those comments in an interview with Garth Crooks for BBC and as far as i can remember Henry said it to Linekar on the same show, but a different day.Vieira made his comments when the signedd Jeffers, he then repeated them during the World Cup when asked why Arsenal hadn't signed any1 yet.I really don't care what you have to say in response DJ because it will be the same mindless ramblings that you have been spouting for the last few months.

1.They standard of live, the people, and the weather make Australian cities far nicer to be in than London(dump)
2.No i met him in Amsterdam twice and in Dortmund.I was in Australia on holiday and i was working in America.
3.Denver and Kansas are too of the nicest cities in the states. No maybe about it Boston and NY are much better than that dump you live in.
4.Shows how much you know doesn't it you fukkin fagot.
5.I don't make things up, I'm not you.
6.Again showing how retarded you are.
7.JD, does that stand for Jealous Dickhead??You are obviously jealous of the fact that Liverpool and Man U are far greater clubs than Arsenal, you're jealous of the support and success they have had.You seem jealous of my profession and the fact that i've met so many famous people while you can only look at pictures of them. And as for Dickhead, well all someone has to do is read your posts to get a clear picture of the type of person you are.

JD

I have no interest in meeting famous footballers - I want to see them play.
In fact I have actively avoided oppourtunities to meet various arsenal players -they are hero's becasue of what they do on the pitch - I personally don't want that contaminated by meeting them and possibly not getting on with them
whatever
I have no idea what your profession is - something to do with taking photo's camerawork
why would I be jealous of that - if I was I would simply go and do it - not exactly rocket sciente takin foto's or holdin a camera is it?

London is imo the greatest city in the world
U obv don't know it well enough to like it fine good
we'll struggle through without yr presence - I'm glad theres a list of 20 places u will end up b4 inflicting yrself on Londons good people.

everyone else in Ireland slagging Dublin (I have been there many times) - its a fact u know it as well as me - typical provincial jealousy of a capital city

meeting cruyff, knowing a journalist - none of these things give you gravitas or your views extra weight
it is a distraction- maybe some of yr posts have something to them but if u try and ram yr views down peoples throats as fact becos EVERY1 agrees, becos u know Cruyff and becos whoever disagrees with u is a child
then yr points get lost in your seperate justification of YOUR superiority
let hwat u post stand and fall on its own merits
not by association with fame
or by dismissing all who dare to differ

I'm not jealous of anyone I'm very happy with who I am and where I'm from -my club is a huge part of that.
manYoo and liverpool are bigger corporate juggernauts with greater historical achievements a larger international fanbase and domestic support from all over the country.

I really don't care - I just want us to be better at football than you, I'm jealous of Liverpool fans who grew up next to the ground followed the team when they where poor and relegated and then went to rome or wherever else and saw them win the CL.

I'll never be jaelous of those who pick a great club from afar -
mmm says a young dublin boy... manure or liverpool?
y not both?
becos imo it just doesn't mean as much
there u go wot I think

1.I grew up in Liverpool you fukkin sap.Fans who saw them relegated would be in their late 50's at least by now.
2.Liverpool a corporate juggernaut??wrong!!Financed by a very rich family, United and Leeds are corporations. We are just bigger than you.
3.All your arguments are based on the fact that you've been to games.I've seen every single arsenal game this season(i have to watch something good)and as you freely admit you get a better idea about th finer points from watching it on tape where you can rewind and slo-mo etc.
4.London is horrible, i know it very quite well.I have friends living there and they hate it but they have to live there because they work there. For you to say it is the best city in the world shows a lack of knowledge of the world.
5.You are wrong JD, you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about.
6.I don't support both clubs, you are obviously unable to read.
7.No1 cares what you think.
8.I'm was journalist as well as a photographer, i now run a company which takes contracts with magazines, papers etc. to report on major sporting events, which depending on he attractiveness of the event i will do myself, for example Jones-Ruiz at the weekend.

I'm none too found of Liverpool either, that's why i moved home.

International capital of What?? are you descriping new york there??

agreed Arsenal are better, considering how poor Liverpool are and the fact that United only seem to care about the CL is that as big an accomplishment as it would have been five years ago?

Patrick Vieira has moved quickly to quash newspaper speculation again linking him with a move away from Arsenal.

"Anyone who knows me knows that I am really happy here," he said.

"I am proud to be captain of this club and it's really frustrating when people make up stories about me.

"I've said it many times already this season. I want to stay for many years to come and that has not changed."
