I've heard said that Ranieri had advised chelsea keeper cudicini to choose England over Italy as far as his international playing career is concerned...it makes sense (for cudicini) seeing as there will be no change in the italian NT keeper lineup of Buffon, Toldo, Abbiati Pelizzoli etc any time soon...i was wondering what you guys think of having a italian in ur team and is it a good idea...why and why not.

Nah...
Don't get me wrong... he's a quality keeper, but he isn't English!
Just don't make sense!
Besides, I think that Robinson and Kirkland will become regular England keepers which isn't that bad, is it?

Am i right in thinking that Di Canio also qualifies to play for England too?

Cudicini is a good keeper, but he's Italian, and he should stay Italian. It wouldn't be right for him to play for England. Besides, Seaman might make it to Euro 2004 and Kirkland seems promising.

id personally love to see carlo in an england team. im not really bothered that he was born in italy. if he feels proud enough to put on an england jersey then why not let him play?

should your nationality just be deicided on where you are born or where you most feel at home?

as far as im concerned hargreaves is a canadian, but im always glad to see him play for england cos hes a quality player and obviously feels english enough to put on the white shirt.

look a france theyve got loads of players who werent born in france.

vieira
zidane
thuram
djorkaeff

and i think there are more i cant think of at the moment.]

i doube carlo will ever pull on an england shirt unfortunatly but with robinson showing great form it wont be too much of a loss

lampshade: its true that these french players werent born in France, however I am sure they come from French blood...IMO it doesnt make them illegible for france, but they are in a way french...same with Camoranesi in italy...his great grandparents were italian, so in a way yes, he's italian...but not italian enough...SO to get to the point..not only was Cudicini not born in England, he has (as to my knowlege) not 1 drop of English blood in his veins...which makes him even more inelligible to play for England

Doesn't have to be competitive, just needs to be capped.

And it's not just he hasn't got English blood, he's got the blood of the great Fabio Cudicini in him too!

lol :D ....well when I say "Seaman might make it", i mean he might be good enough to play, and not continue his mistakes like against Brazil or Macedonia. Or Kirkland can take over, if he's good enough.

Kirkland will be the future England keeper becaus ehe's the best English keeper there is at the moment.
