Black Hand

I find it funny that everyone keeps saying how the Slovenes dominated the game. Actually, shots on goal, cornerkicks, and time of possesion were just about equal. Actually, the Yugos led in two of those categories. Granted statistics do not tell the entire story of any game, but they can be used as valid indicators.
I think both teams played great and both teams made some critical mistakes. Just like every game. What is funny is that the Slovenes were so pumped for this game, because they had something to prove. Everybody says seperate politics and soccer, but the politics is what makes soccer rivalries so interesting. Is the Germany-England game so hyped because they are so great or because of the history between the two countries.
Back to the game. What does it say if the Yugos could accomplish in six minutes, it took the Slovenes 84 minutes.
I predict the Slovene nationalism won't be so high against Norway and Spain and they will lose a bit of their edge. On the other hand, I think the Yugos got a good wake up call.
By the way didn't Zahovic look like a little prick by shaking his head and making those stupid faces after he scored. The idiot started celebrating a bit too early.
As for Miha, I don't blame him. Could be someone was giving him shit. Kind of like in the Croat game. Anyway, that was the catalyst for the Yugos so Miha gets my player of the game.
What's bad about him being out though is the opposing teams have less worry about giving up fouls outside the box so they will play more aggressive.
Anyway, it was a classic game played by classy teams. But I don't think it was as one sided as many would like to think.
